If We Were Having Coffee on the 18th of July, 2020

Coffee on Cape Cod

Hello and Welcome!  Come on into the back yard and I’ll get you a nice mug of a super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, or perhaps something cool.  It is warm and sunny, though the back in nicely shaded and there is a breeze.  Perfect to sit and sip our beverages.  Oh, where are we?  Some of you may recognize that photo at the top as being ob Cape Cod.

I drove down here late Wednesday.  I had to work Thursday and Friday, but was still able to get out a bit, including a paddle on the kayak.  I went running bright and early this morning and then drove to the other side of town to take a long walk on my favorite beach.  I left to return home a little before 9 AM, and yet the traffic was backed up a mile waiting to get onto the beach!  The other beach just down the road (the more popular one) was closed by shortly after 8.  Yeah, I forget what high season is about!

Work was, well, work.  The weather is pretty good this week.  I did my typical – run, exercise, play with the dogs, read, etc.

It is quiet in my little corner of the Cape.  I may relax for a portion of the day.  I might mow (it needs it!) or do other chores.  I know I will be outside quite a bit. And I most likely won’t be sitting inside on the computer ;)

With that, I will be on my way.  Thanks for stopping by fr a visit!  If you have a coffee share, I will try to stop in.

Have great weekend :)

The coffee share is hosted over on Eclectic Alli.  The link to join is here.

Yes, I did get the mowing done without a hitch. I hate to admit, but it actually looks much better after I mow… It is a very pretty corner of the world, and I feel lucky to live (part of the time) there and am able to get out in the kayak as much as I do.

I did end up mowing yesterday. No matter how much I hate to admit it, the yard looks much, much better ;) Most years it dries out in August, so maybe I won’t have to mow after mid-August…

lol, yep, I’m sure it is cultural conditioning. I mean, I love the wild and untamed look when there is no house present, so why does that cropped, domesticate look seem so nice just because there is a house?

We had our days on the boat on the big river in Connecticut. Even though the water was too rough to go out, just being outside, in the wind, with the sky so blue with puffy clouds but sadly lacking the glorious sunset we sometimes see, it was magical. I’m glad you got your little bit of peace. We need peace.

There is something really nice about being by the water, isn’t there? Last night I sat at the landing for 30 minutes just watching the water and the sunset. Sorry you missed the glorious sunsets, but glad you were able to spend time on the water, even if moored or docked the entire time.

Mission accomplished – I spent as little time inside as possible today ;) it is very pretty here, and very different from Texas! Actually, my place in New Hampshire is as well, because we are surrounded by big, green mountains there… I hope your weekend is going well :)

Beautiful photo, I can feel the quiet and the breeze! Your post makes me want to visit the ocean. I’ll have to tell hubby we need to go and walk the pier! If we go I hope it won’t be crowded. Thanks for the cup of coffee, and enjoy the cape!! 🌞

Might be a little late for that black coffee right now, but… I did a pretty good job at avoiding that computer today. I hope you got the work done, but enjoyed the outdoors as well. Also hope the rest of your weekend goes well and that you have a wonderful week next week :)

Hi T – my projects are rolling on…,
A little blah but also enjoyable –
And glad the coffee was late because I am officially now requesting a cold beverage – to help beat the heat! Ha 🥛🥤🧃

That the amount of people increase dramatically during vacation times? I grew up near a ski resort and certain weeks were best spent inside..Everyone knew exactly what week the kids from Stockholm had their spring break, no manners or snow experience, just loud craziness. LOL I hope you got to spend some time at your favourite beach. Thank you for the coffee.

When I used to have year passes to the ski resorts, i would skip specific weeks because of school break… I usually avoid being here in Jult, though I do have to come down occasionally. Early August is pretty bad as well. I don’t know how this year will be, with school being up in the air – typically the last two weeks of August are quiet as all of the kids return to school… Have a great weekend :)
