Hello and Welcome! A thunderstorm is about to hit (good, we need rain!) so lets stand on the porch and wait for it to blow over before we sit at the table. Yeah, I’ll get some towels and such so we don’t get wet seats. It started as a gorgeous day, after a very nice week – warm, but not overly hot, nice cold nights. Perfect. It is going to get hot the next few days, but with cool nights. Autumn is in the air, and it definitely feels like late August! Where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.
This was an odd week. Very busy at work. I took care of dogs. I ran and exercised. Ate, slept ;) Typical. And did I say work was busy?
Since the weather was so nice, the dogs wanted to be outside all of the time. I did as many walks as time would allow ;) And play time. And running through the woods. And, you know, dogs are dogs. But the cats took a lot of attention too!
Wow, the rain is done. It was very intense (dark red on the weather map), but was over in less than five minutes. I hate to admit it, but we need a s good soaking rain particularly down on Cape Cod where my grass is brown.
The highlight of the week might have been a quick run to Lowes this morning to pick up some stuff to work on the house. I pretty much only go into the grocery store once a week, so being inside in another store…
That is about it. I am very boring :) I hope you all had a great week.
Thanks for stopping by! If you have a coffee share, I will try to stop in and say hi.
Have a great weekend.
The coffee share is hosted over on Eclectic Alli. The link to join is here. (Note – the link I used was all recipes shared by people I don’t know, so I deleted my link. Not sure what is up?)
lol, same old, same old…

Well I enjoyed that cuppa! Your life sounds about average, I think, not boring, just crummy-covid.
My friend is talking about going to ‘the cape’ at the last week of October. I’m thinking it’s going to be very cold by then. What do you think?

Being surrounded by water, the Cape stays warmer than the mainland. Unless there is an unusual heatwave, though, there won’t be any swimming…. The beaches are empty and nice. In ways autumn is my favorite time of year there.

Autumn is definitely sneaking around. I don’t think I’m quite ready for that. Sounds like you got lots of outside exercise, Trent. The joys of dogs. :-)

I did get outside quite a bit, which is great for me – I often feel like I’d rather be out than in. The dogs, of course, feel the same ;) In many ways I am ready for autumn. Fall is my favorite season, and I’m beginning to get tired of the heat.

I noticed so many leaves changing today. Autumn is on its way (a favorite season of mine too).

I’ve been seeing a little color in the trees the last few days as well. I think it always takes me by surprise to see so much color in August when it is still warm (color came a little later in Ohio, where I grew up).

It doesn’t sound like a boring week, just a full work week, pleasant with good weather? The photo at the top, I have seen it before of course, but I really like, the colours and the composition. It is great. Thank you for the coffee!

I guess “full” sounds better than “boring” ;) I really like my backyard in New Hampshire – it is beautiful. the woods and hill, the gardens, etc. The first photo in that spot was taken with the coffee cup nestled into a snow bank at that exact spot. Then there is one with a fancy coffee service surrounded by bright red leaves, again in that same spot. Perfect for all seasons ;) Hope you are having a great weekend! Have a wonderful week :)

All seasons have their own unique beauty :) The backyard is beautiful indeed. I hope your weekend is everything you want it to be.

I think we got about two minutes of rain and then the sun was out again. My garden is a horror show. I try not to even look at it when I’m near it. Argh. But in the meantime, we have had a charming invasion of red squirrels!
I didn’t know there were any red squirrels up here. I’ve never seen them before, but they are very cute. Smaller than the big Eastern Gray Squirrels who are pushing them out. Also, I got a “second hand” which is to day brand new but previously returned 12-200mm Olympus lens. It’s faster than their other long lenses, though it’s a bit on the clunky side. Big piece of glass — 72mm filters. Still, it’s best point of focus is exactly where I need it to be.
The only problem I’ve had with it is it definitely needs a filter, probably circular polarizer. It has a reflection issue, probably because that front piece of glass is big and there are times when I’m shooting right into the sun. I’m hoping a polarizer will help. I haven’t used one in a long time … decades, I think. I’m really excited about it! It’s the first quality lens I’ve found that takes me from pretty wide (24mm) to pretty wide (400mm). A fine all purpose lens and it seems happy on my Pen F. Oh, it starts at f3,5. Not bad.

I think I’ve mentioned that my 75-300 is my go to lens these days since I do mostly bird photos. The 12-200 looks interesting since you never have to take it off…. Maybe on my old (original) e-m 5. But there is no way I can afford a new lens for at least a couple of years. One thing – I originally picked up my E-M 1 III to use my old (original-non-micro) four-thirds lens, particularly the 50-200, which is a fantastic lens. It is still slow on the M1 III, it is super heavy (can’t kayak with it) and by the time I crop down to the same image as the 300, it loses detail. But the images, when not cropped, are just so beautiful (it is 2.8 – 3.5, so pretty bright).
They were calling for more rain last night, but the quick 5 minutes while I was writing my post was all we got. I’m sure you are a little worse than here. I know the Cape is worse than NH. Hopefully the rain will soon be here…

Aww, I don’t think your boring and sometimes I don’t share because I think the same thing, so maybe I should just share anyways. I so enjoy reading and commenting so it’s all GOOD! 😉
I checked out the link at Eclectic Alli site, and it led me to the same links with at least 4 shares of people sharing recipes I didn’t know, and then 3 coffee shares that I recognize!! Haha, I think we have joined together with someone else’s linkup! Kinda funny, maybe I’ll check out some new recipes if I have time! Have a great weekend! 😀😍

Yes, I think you need to post even if you think it is boring. Of course you do as did and say you think it is boring ;) I might go back and check out the linky again, just to see. i wasn’t sure if it was rude crashing somebody’s recipe party… I hope you are having a good weekend :)

We could use rain too. I’m pretty tired of hauling hoses around to water things. If we get any rain I’ll send it your way after we get our share. I’m pretty boring too. Grocery store yesterday, that was it. I’m thinking I need to go camping again, I’m sure my husband thinks I do not! Still….. I haven’t taken Katie anywhere, it’s just too hot. We have been sleeping out in the yard in the tent, she’s so excited about that every night that at 9:30 she goes and crys at the back door. Silly girl. Of course she gets to go! She wouldn’t want to be left out. I hope you have a great week coming up and work settles down some for you. But not too much, you know?

That is so funny that she likes camping out that much! Is your husband not much into camping, or does he need to stay home? It was great to have some cool weather, including lows in the low 50s! It will be in the 90s again tomorrow, so the cool weather is gone again…. Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a great week ahead :)

Husband says he’ll stay in a hotel, thank you very much. When I talk about buying a camper he says I could buy quite a few nights at a good hotel for the money I’d spend on an RV. Well..that’s true, but not the point! :) So far the weekend has been lovely. I promised to take Katie out to one of her parks tomorrow morning before it gets so hot. But we’ll be camping out in the yard tonight, it’s 8:25 p.m. and she’s already crying at the back door. Sigh.

Can’t you order online and pick up at the curb? That’s how we are doing things here but we still have lots of virus in the air!

I think it would be possible to order ahead here. Our rates are very low – in the area of NH were I am, one of the lowest in the country per capita – and at 8 AM, there were very few people around, all in masks. Except for checkout, I doubt if I came within 30 feet of anybody. The way we do things sure has changed…

That is great!! Jim goes to pick up the bird seed very early in the morning and at most sees one other customer.

When it first hit, it was very hard to find good times to go, but most places are now pretty empty early.

Good luck at Lowes. Hope you manage to find what you need. Here, home improvement/home repair items are still in short supply, as are any items having to do with outside recreation, and anything to do with exercise. I’m waiting for vinyl sheet flooring to come in for my kitchen, and I don’t think there’s any problem with that since it was in stock in the US when I purchased it, but we also need a new subfloor and plywood is hard to find. Maybe I should just start cutting down my own trees …

Ooops, I worded it wrong “might have been” instead of “might be” – I did my Lowes run at 8 AM to avoid crowds. Shelves fully stocked, no problems. For the most part, haven’t seen parts shortages (people working on my house on Cape Cod) except that I ordered a new refrigerator in early June and it is still weeks away…
