Fall Foliage and Felines – Photos

I hope you aren’t getting sick of my autumn photos… Anyway, I am going to repeat a few posted before, but add new ones. (Note – yes, in that photo at the top, that is how steep my back yard is – in places even steeper…)

All of these were taken in and around Wilton, New Hampshire in the last two weeks.

This side of the continent is great ;) I do love the maples. There are several species, each with slightly different characteristics, so there is always variety, particularly this time of year, even if everything is “just maple”. Thanks!

Thanks, Sonya. Yes, I have three cats, including Albert, the three legged cat that isn’t pictured. I do get plenty of exercise chasing the dogs up and down that hill! Funny thing, I can always catch them going up, but going down? Nope, they have to wait….

We are down to two cats we use to have 5 Ishy the oldest died of old age I assume she was about 13 yrs old. Stripe disappeared just like Harry and they were both fixed but I know they roamed some at night. I do not think they went far but I could be wrong. We have Ishy’s kitten before being fixed Puffy Tail and Mr. Bird who both are fixed. They are about 10 yrs old and 3 weeks apart. They spend the night in he house but go out at sun up and come in right before sun down lol. They always act exhausted from being outdoors and napping all day lol.

All of our cats have been indoor cats. These guys don’t even seem curious about being outside. We’ve had Albert out a few times, but Josie and Grace want nothing to do with the door. We’ve had Albert for almost 10 years. he was a street cat from Kuwait City. He has hit by a car (why he only has 3 legs) and is FIV. The shelter where we got him was literally the only shelter in the world that would take him. They said we may get 3 or 4 good years out of him…. It’s possible he will still be here 3 or 4 years from now!

Our two that go in and out have 2 acres to roam and never go further. I mean they will stand in our dead end road and look in the ditch but that is it. They just like basking in the sun. Bird climbs trees but Puffy will not grasp how to climb a tree. We have put her on a tree claws out and she falls down does not understand that is what her claws are for. Animals are such entertainment.

There are a lot of cats around our town, and a few that hang out at our house all of the time – my neighbors feed feral cats, but also try to capture them and get them fixed. We usually have at least one living in our barn – I don’t mind since it will help with the pests. Animals are great entertainment. Like people, they all have their own personalities (animalalities?)

I will never tire of your wonderful photos. What a way to do a great cardio, butt & thigh workout powering up that slope, lol. I can actually picture a meandering path throughout. Just glorious colours. Cute squishy cats. Have a wonderful weekend ahead.

Thanks! My main run that I do starts with a 500 ft/160 m climb in less than 2 miles/3 km. Yep, glut/cardio/thigh work out. lol, There are a few paths that the dogs and I make through the woods, but after a short way in, they disappear, so it feels like a million miles from anywhere, even though I am surrounded by houses. Hope you have a great weekend!
