If We Were Having Coffee on the 5th of December, 2020

Hello and Welcome! Brush the snow off and come on in. I’ll get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. It only switched over from rain to snow about an hour and a half or two hours ago, but it is beginning to accumulate. Where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.

The weather this week has been odd. We had a few nice days, but also some cold and it poured rain all day Monday. And then it is sowing today. We may get a foot (30 cm) out of this storm! Yesterday it was 50 F/10 C.

I did all of the usual things this week. I walked and played with the dogs, ran, exercised and had a massage. I worked and did some work around the house. I picked up a rower (exercise machine), and have used it, gently, once. I hope to get more into it soon. I have been playing my new synthesizer.

A big thing this week was that I finally started editing The Old Mill again. I should be done with this pass early next week. I’ll then send it to a couple of people who help me edit and have them look. My goal is to have it out in early January.

I have also finally started my Christmas shopping… I went out before the snow hit this morning and picked up something for a kid on the list of a local charity. I also picked up a few other things.

As morning turns to afternoon, I am about to give up my coffee and start some tea. i’ll sit back, listen to music and continue to edit. I think it is normal that I don;t like editing ;)

Thanks for stopping by! f you have a coffee share, I will try to stop in and say hi, but I will admit that my blogging time has been limited recently, and visiting has been down :(

Have a great weekend!

The coffee share is hosted over on Eclectic Alli. The link to join in is here.

I think this week I will get a little deeper into it, but I am definitely not in the Christmas spirit yet… Maybe I should dress up as Santa as well. It might help. (I have a friend who is a “professional Santa”)

I’m so happy you are able to get back to your book and editing. And snow! Yay, then rain and ice, yuck. I lived up in our local mountains for one year and one of the worse thing is that black ice! So slippery! I hope it goes back to snowing instead! Stay warm, and have a great week!!

I’m waiting for all of the ice to melt ;) We are going to have a few frigid days, then it will warm up and the ice, including black ice, will go away. Editing is going well :) Have a great week!

What an inviting coffee share! Is the snow still there? We are expecting a warm 41F today, and after that it’s going to get colder and colder and start snowing. I believe that by next weekend we should have som snow here, in time for our Lucia celebration.
How is the editing coming along? It’s great that you feel inspired. Best of luck with your writing. Very exciting! Have a fabulous new week!

Although there were large snowfalls around us (the higher elevations of our town got a lot), our snow turned back to rain. We had a few inches that turned to ice over night. It is still there, and some should remain most of the week, but not really pretty snow. The editing is going well – I guess I had to get the music that I posted last week out of my system before I could write again ;) Thanks for joining me! Have a wonderful week.

I have not been able to walk in over a week. First, we had lots of rain for a few days then it turned cold, and if it’s below 60 degrees I am not out in it I really prefer 65-67 degrees. Have fun Trent enjoy your cold lol.

I try to walk no matter the temperature (on a rare occasion I won’t if it is too hot or cold, but rare), bu when it is pouring rain, uhm, maybe not ;) I hope you are able to get a walk in soon!

Hi Trent. I noted with interest that you’ve re-engaged The Old Mill and are hip deep it sounds like in editing. I so wish I were better at editing. I can do most of it, but it takes me so long to close on anything like a finish line. I’m getting more interested in publishing as you’ve done, via Amazon Kindle (and perhaps other means I don’t know of) as I’m just finishing, “An Insider’s Guide to Publishing” by David Comfort (2013) so a tad dated but a wonderful sarcastic read that all but scares off the likes of guys like me. Great read, but he leaves me with questions. There’s always questions. . .

Editing is a pain, particularly at the stage I am – I do a lot of drafting and revising before I get to the editing stage. The phase I am at might better be called “copy editing” – I have done tons of drafts, beta readers (actually alpha readers before them) have left feedback, etc. I am not at the end, going through and trying to weed out all of those typos and things. Yuck. Still looking at some of the larger things, and will add/delete/change/revise entire paragraphs, if needed, but I am concentrating on words for the first time, and that is hard…. Good luck in taking the next step!

I have started my Christmas shopping too, and actually mailed one box yesterday. Will have the second and last box next week. I like the idea of buying something for a kid somewhere. I know there used to be things like that around but I haven’t seen anyting this year. :( I think I need a cup of cocoa…that sounds wonderful. Have a great week!

In past years they would have a tree in the town hall and one in the library with names and gift ideas. This year I heard about it through my Lions Club, so I’m not sure how most people are hearing about it, if they do. Cocoa does sound good… Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week!

I love the snow, it doesn’t snow here well not like that & for the first time just on the outer edge of town last winter. random. Yesterday was 35c there was a slight fog that acted as a sauna it was crazy. Thank You for your generosity in taking the time to be involved in such a treasure of an organisation. Do the dogs like playing in the snow? Another book congrats. Have a wonderful weekend

It was 35 here most of the day ;) OK, it was 35 F here – 35 C is too warm for me! I can take the cold better than the heat. The dogs love the snow, but so far it has been a heavy, wet snow, not really much different from rain, and they haven’t wanted to stay out in it… Hope you are having a wonderful weekend :)
