Hi all! I did have a lot to smile about this week, but one is special. On Tuesday, the 9th of February I released my book the Old Mill.
The Old Mill started as a serialized novel here, on my blog, back in early 2017. In 2019 I rewrote it mostly from scratch. And then, well, it has been two hard years of drafting and editing and such. In that time I also created a cover and did other work. Anyway, it is finally out!
This is a smile, not a promotion, so I’ll leave more details to the release post here.
Releasing The Old Mill was my smile for this week.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).
Whoo-hooo. Cool.

Congratulations on the release of your book, Trent! Well done. Did you publish or use a POD service, I wonder?

Have you blogged about the process?

I’ve talked about my editing process and all of that, but I don’t think I have done a post about the actual publishing process. Might be worth doing…

Thanks! If you want to see the cover, might be easiest to look at the release page (I don’t want to put it on the smile page :) ) https://trentsworld.blog/2021/02/09/the-old-mill-released/
I’ll be by to see your smile in a few minutes.
