If We Were Havign Coffee on the 27th of February, 2021 #weekendcoffeechare

Hello and Welcome! Come on over and I’ll get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or a hot cocoa. He can sit here at the table until it starts to rain, in which case we’ll pull it onto the covered patio area by the barn. It is warmish and feels nice, though it is supposed to rain most of the day. Where are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.

First, yep, I am back on “The Cape” after not being down here for almost two months. It is hard to explain whey I haven’t been visiting, but it started with the travel ban that Massachusetts put up. It was fine until they added New Hampshire to the list in November. Anyway, hopefully I’ll start visiting more often.

I got down here Wednesday night. I did work Thursday and Friday, but was able to do short walks to the local landings. On Thursday I did my normal run, which goes by the beach (two miles or so (one there, one back) is the beach access/parking where I can see water on either side of the road). On Friday I did a long walk in the woods at my favorite little place to walk, Bells Neck. Today? I have taken a walk, but not sure how the day will go with the rain and all.

Besides Cape Cod, I did the usual things. Last week I said I had been off of my exercise routine, but this week I ran Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. I did walks and played with dogs. I worked. I had massage. I did a Lions Club meeting. I wrote. I read. The usual.

There is still quite a bit of snow up in NH. A neighbor/friend built a huge snow castle. It isn’t completed in this photo, but you get some idea. Oh, the wall up front was taller than me, and the towers? Well, they towered above me! It was huge! The towers crumbled in the warmer weather.

That is mostly it. It isn’t raining yet, so I am goign out for a walk. Thanks for stopping by to visit! If you have a coffee share, I will try to stop by.

Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkzlinkup to see all of the other shares!

Cape Cod is my happy place. I try to make it there a couple times a year. This year it looks like it will only be the one time in the fall.

And that snow castle is amazing!

Cape Cod is in many ways my happy place as well, so much so that I bought a house there and plan on living there full time when I retire :) Yeah, it is pretty tough with all of the travel restrictions in place and everything. I hope you are able to get down there (I’m back in New Hampshire now) this year.
My friend Tina did a great job with that castle!

Ooh, I’m so happy you made it to the Cape! Not that it’s not pretty in NH, but I love all your photos of the Cape and the ocean and beaches. I’m glad you were able to get to your running too. 🙂 Oh and that castle is amazing!! Idina looks amazed by it too 😉
I’ve had a busy weekend I’ll share on my smile post this next week. Have a great week ahead! 🤠

It was great to get back to Cape Cod after being away for a while. I do like NH a lot, and love being in the hills, but something about The Cape is relaxing. The castle was pretty cool – Tina, who made it, did a great job.
Look forward to seeing your smile :) Have a great week.

Your time on the Cape sounds wonderful. I know how much the running and walking mean to you and I am glad you have had a chance to do it. I started a new walking / exercising routine last week and it has made me feel so much more energetic and I am sleeping much better. All of those go hand it hand. While sharing coffee I would tell you that our weather here in East Tennessee is unusually warm with 75 F temps here today. It’s not spring yet for us though March can be a frosty cold month. Oh well, spring is on the way!!!

I do really enjoy spending time on Cape Cod. We have had a place down there for about years (two different places – we’ve been in the new one for about 2), and these last few months have been the longest stretches of not spending time there since then.
My exercise routine does make me feel a lot better. Glad you are enjoying yours.
75 – wow, I can’t wait to see 75 again! We will be winter through March. That is the only problem with Cape Cod – spring is late, is very wet and is cool… It will be real spring in New Hampshire first.

      Have a great week!

I do love spending time on Cape Cod and have had a second home down here for almost 8 years now. My friend Tina is great at her snow sculpture! Her castle is great.

Glad you’re back on the cape and back to your physical routines. As much as the snow is pretty and somewhat magical, I’m sure it’s good to have the weather warm up and start to get rid of the white stuff.
We have had high winds here. Comcast is down as is T-Mobile. Today, for me, that meant I had to way to reach the outside world as you may remember that I am using my phone’s data to access the internet. So I went to my daughter’s and now I have both internet and cell. At least for a couple of days.

Just seems like one weather issue after another over there. Glad the snow is clearing up, though. It is nice to get back into all of the routines :) I hope you have a good week, and are able to access the world!

We had a heart-attack snowfall today (that sticky, heavy stuff) and I had my 10K steps to complete (was 7K short). I was soaked by the time I got back but glad I went when I did because it turned to rain – ugh.
    that is some castle!!

It was all rain on Cape Cod, but it started as snow in New Hampshire, and last night it got cold, so the entire world is ice! Glad you got your 10K steps in before the rain hit.
The castle is cool – Tina, who built it, does a great job with snow sculpture.

Sounds like you had a more you of a week. Must have felt so good to get up & at it. I love your dogs expression looking at the snow castle sculpture, completely enthralled as any human would be. I hope your week ahead is as exponentially great.

Hey Trent. Hopefully this means things are letting up some in your area. We’re beginning to see some rules relaxed here, but progress is slow. Glorious photos again – they are always welcome. Have a great week.

I haven’t seen much of a lightening of restrictions, but then, for the most part I am not affected much beyond this travel restriction. For the most part, life goes on. You put on a mask when you are indoors or around people. I have seen a few businesses that closed their doors, but 99% are up and running, even if on a different basis. Live music has been hit very, very hard. Eating in a restaurant is changed, but I always get takeout anyway. Clubs and churches and such are on-line, but more people go because it is so much easier than traveling.

It’s been a weird weather week here… one day below zero wind chills, single digit temps… the next day (literally) it feels like spring with temps in the 40’s, and rain..yep..rain. the snow is gone and the world is brown… It’s 50 today, so we went for a walk with our new family furry member.

OK, I guess I -have- to go read your blog since you mentioned a new furry family member! I knew you were looking, but didn’t know you found one. The weather has been odd, and spring like at times, but it is still winter – this Tuesday the high will be 15 F with windchill below 0.

I hope that the rain held off long enough for your walk. We are enjoying mist, fog, and light snow, today. With highs in the 40s by the middle of the week, I imagine that we will lose our snow cover. Very little overall precipitation over the winter. I envy you your walks. I miss walking through the woods in the winter. Best wishes!

I did get another short walk in this morning, but it has been raining since then. I do hope I can follow in my mother’s footsteps (half literally) – she is in her 80s and still walks a couple of miles down at the local park every day. I would very much miss it! I hope your weekend is going well. Thanks for stopping by :)

I am happy you finally got to run on the beach this week, wonderful. Do you bring your dogs when you run? I bet they love playing at the beach? My dogs always have. We have spring weather here and the sun is shining. Thank you for the coffee and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I don’t run with the dogs – I run a bit fast and far for them, and don’t want to stop (I run 5 miles at about 7 minute per mile pace). There is a window of time when they allow the dogs on the beach, and Fiyero loves it, but Idina isn’t so sure. The waves really scare her.
I can feel spring in the air here. Winter isn’t done yet, but the end is in sight :)
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

That is one of the reasons I like Cape Cod – although it gets very cold and there is snow, the winter does not interfere with running as much as it does up in New Hampshire. I also know I’m pretty lucky not to have an injury or anything to keep me from running.
My friend Tina, who built the castle, is very talented. She also made a very cool dragon, but I didn’t get a picture of it before it melted.
Thanks for dropping by! Have a great weekend!
