Hi all! Hope you are well. Did you have a lot to smile about over the last week? Up here in New England we had our first real taste of spring, and it was a huge smile!
I spent a few days on Cape Cod. Thursday was, well, if not warm, not cold. Friday was warm. I had to work both days, but I also took plenty of walks. I watched the sun rise and the sun set on Thursday, as well as a great sunset on Friday. I took a very long walk in the woods and another on the beach on Thursday. I did a run on Friday that included the long straight of the beach access road so I could see the ocean beside me as I ran. I did many shorter walks when I could. In general, I spent as much time outside as I could.

There is a part of me that would rather be outside than in. I am out in all types of weather. I love the out of doors. But those few days last week when the temperatures were perfect were just great.
A huge smile :)
So that was my smile, spending time in the first spring weather of the year.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

Beautiful beach photo, Trent. Hope you have more nice weather this week.
A walk to see the ice sculptures at IceFest21 A Trip Around The World event made me smile:

Thanks, Natalie. After a cold start of the week, today is very nice. Hope you are getting good, outdoor weather as well. I did see the post, but will go back to it in a minute :)

Last Saturday was our perfect day sunshine and in the low 70s. We spent most of the day outdoors cleaning up the yard from the freeze. Around here the work never ends lol. Glad you had a few good runs and enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets.

The potential work here is never done, but I find ways to avoid it, like by running and walking down to take photos. lol, glad you are getting some nice weather as well. I’m sure it is a relief after that awful cold blast you had a few weeks ago!

The weather is finally warming up for you! Certainly more conducive to enjoy the outdoors! Here’s to more Spring Days!

Thanks! Monday was frigid again, but the spring-weather should return today.

It must be so difficult for you to decide how to dress on any given day?!!!! Does the weather ever change on you after you’ve started a run/walk/trek?

I do spend a lot of time with weather apps… Unless a storm is blowing in, it usually doesn’t change that suddenly, but there are always difference between the start and end.

Lots of smiles this last week (before it got cold again here in New England!). We were able to get the chickies out into the garden. They loved being able to scratch around and the ground was soft enough for them to make a big mess. Oh, and also … my daughter got engaged!

Yeah, yesterday’s cold was brutal! But it is supposed to warm up again, so spring will soon be here (I hope). Glad the chickens were able to get out. Congratulations to your daughter!

The great thing about living where you live is your body gets steeled against any kind of cold weather:) Beautiful sunset, but still looks cold:) Here is mine (grand slurping from a saucer!)https://wp.me/p9EWyp-2NA

It’s funny – we had a few warm (for here in March) and then a bit of bitter January cold – I don’t think I felt as cold all year as I was for that day of cold weather after the warm! So, yeah, we get adjusted, but sometimes we can get used to warmer weather pretty quick as well ;) I will be by in a few minutes

I LOVE your smile post as I too love the outdoors so much! I’m near a beach about 45 minutes away and love it. So if I miss the waves I can plan an outing. It’s a busy place and can be packed with people on a hot sunny day! Lol 🤣 Your photos are gorgeous! Hoping to write a smile post this week. Haven’t gotten to it yet! 🙂

thanks! Yeah, there are beaches like that around here. I like going real early, before people show up, or off season. I will go to one of the very popular beaches to a far off corner to swim for a little while. I hope you find a little time to get a smile post in :)

It was a great week! There is just something about being outside… and reading your posts I can tell you enjoy nature (I think your profile picture is still you on a mountain in NH ;) )

Spring is my favourite time of year and like you, I also prefer being outside than in. The beaches are empty and there are plenty of wildflowers to enjoy..

I do like spring, but spring on Cape Cod is usual cool, wet and windy, so not the best season. Glad you are getting the wildflowers – still a few weeks away here. I’ll be by in a few minutes :)

Definitely, give me the beach–any old beach, anywhere, any season, any day, any weather! I trust you enjoyed it for any of us who don’t have the luxury of actually being at a beach :) My smile today–purchasing a new bromeliad, purplish-red, gorgeous!!

i know I’m lucky to get to spend so much time on the beach, and I do make the most of that time :) So, yeah, I will think of the “land-bound” the next time I make it out. I’m terrible with plants and had to Google it, but recognized ” bromeliad” once I did. I’m sure it is gorgeous!

Wonderful.
We had a couple of warmish days and that was it. Back to biting cold! Glad you were able to enjoy it as much. I, too, go out every single day but wouldn’t mind not needing snow pants and my big coat anymore!

Today is very cold here! And windy. But it will warm up again as the week goes on, so I guess I can stand one frigid day.

Here, too (wind chill -13°F). Should hit 50 by Thursday (fingers crossed). I’m really done with this cold. I dunno why I become a wimp in March (wishful thinking when all are sharing their crocus and such while us? Nuthin’!)
