Old brown leaves
Purple pushes through
Life renews

This was written for Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge. This week were asked to write either a haiku or a senryu. I chose a haiku. And, yes, I have used that crocus in several posts this last week ;)
This one is beautiful friend :)

I’m so happy these pop up as early as they do.

Lovely, Trent🙂.
I thought they only came in purple, but I saw a yellow one today.

Thanks! I thought crocuses could be other colors, but in the last few years I’ve only seen purple. Cool you saw a yellow one.

Look how brilliant the purple is in that crocus! It’s the gift of spring, for sure. Your haiku is lovely. <3

I don’t know if winter was darker than usual, but the crocuses do seem more colorful this year! Thanks :)

It’s COVID and feeling like we’re trapped inside… but the purple is spectacular in color!

Nothing poppyup in our neighborhood yet! I’m on lookout. We have a bunch of old bushes to remove. Once we do that I’ll try to add some bulbs. ❤️

We’ve had the usual spring flowers – tiny daffodils, crocuses, snow drops and little blue flowers that I have no name for ;) Hope you get some blooms soon!

Thanks, Marina! I’ll admit that I often start with the image and work backwards.
