This last week was a bit strange. Not a lot happened, good or bad. i stayed very busy and just did normal things.
For the most part.
However, I did go get my first vaccine shot. It was quite the adventure, because of driving in the snow (!). Yes, snow in mid April! But I got it done, so half way there. You can read more about the driving adventure (snow, slush, etc.) on my coffee share post.
That was my smile for the week, getting my first vaccine shot.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

I have a bit more to smile about this week so I thought I would join in. https://forestwoodfolkart.wordpress.com/2021/04/26/solar-energy-in-australia
Great to hear that you got your first vaccine shot. Australia is a bit slow on the vaccine roll out. Did you get the Pfizer shot? Any after effects?

Glad you can join, though I may toss you into this week’s group instead of last week’s.
I received the moderna shot. I had a little soreness in my arm for a couple of days, but not bad. I have heard that it is the second shot that has the most side effects, so am prepared…

Ah Moderna! Yes it will be interesting to hear if the side effects cumulate on the subsequent shot. We do not have Moderna here at all, so must not have invested in it. Only Pfizer for front line workers and the bare minimum available, and Astro Zeneca for everyone else, although now only for over 60’s since the clotting deaths.

I don’t think we have Astro Zeneca, but, besides Pfizer and Moderna, we have Johnson and Johnson, though there were some clotting issues there as well.

J&J has been discontinued here due to the clotting issues.

Oh, and if I do put it in for this week and you come up with something else, there are no issues having two posts in a week.

That is good to know, Trent. I am sure I will find more to smile about. Thanks for hosting such a positive blog challenge!

Snow in April! Goodness!
Congratulations on your 1st vaccine dose. I got my 1st shot yesterday too! So yay, us!

Snow in April is rare, but it does happen. Just wish it didn’t happen when I had to be somewhere ;) Glad you got your first shot as well :)

I am chuckling because it seems like snow is just like rainstorms for us – it’s just inconvenient!

lol, yes, the snow is often little more than an inconvenience. If there is a huge amount it can shut everything down, but a spring snow always melts pretty fast and so usually not a big deal (except psychologically – it’s spring! No snow!)

I smiled when I met a long term friend outside when we were allowed that this past weekend, I haven’t seen her for six months.

Cool that you were able to meet your friend. It is so surreal that seeing a friend is a big deal! Oh well, can’t wait until we are closer to “normal”.

Wow, still snow! If you wanted the vaccine, you accomplished your purpose:)
My smile are the grands eating ice cream, and last week it was warm enough for that – mid eighties. Now it’s 10 degrees cooler, Jesh

It was in the 70s just a few days before the snow storm, and is back up to 70 tomorrow. Just odd weather… Though not warm enough for ice cream outside here, at least for me!

I think getting your vaccine is definitely something to smile about, Trent.

It is. Hopefully the sooner everyone gets one, the sooner things return to (the new) normal.

Any thoughts on what that new normal will be, Trent?

Not really. i do think more people will rely on Internet/online services more than before, since we are now used to it. More people will telecommute. Masks in public in the US will not be as unusual as it was (After SARs in Asia, wearing masks in public was not unusual). Beyond that, I’m not sure.

Me either, but I think there is going to be a lot of poverty for a while.

Possibly, particularly looking at a global scale – the US will bounce back pretty quick, as will most of Western Europe, but a lot of places won’t. However, I hope the US and Western Europe use this little interruption as a time to make positive changes!

Congrats on your vaccination! I thought I responded but thinking about it I think I didn’t. Here is my smile post! Thank you! :D

I can’t say if anyone else did, but I didn’t. On the other hand, look at that photo – they are all in water! Ooops…
