If We Were Having Coffee on the First of May, 2021 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on over and sit down! It is a little cool, but warming. The sun feels great and there is no wind back here. You can see a little water flashing in the sun through the trees. Isn’t it pretty? Hold on and I’ll get you a mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. Oh, where are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.

I was on “The Cape” all week. More than that, this was my “Spring Break”. Sort of. I took Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off of work. It rained Thursday, but it was still nice to get away.

As i said, I did work Monday and Tuesday. They were busy days, but not as bad as the week before!

This week I kayaked a couple of times, walked in the woods, walked on the beach, ran, exercised, played with dogs, puttered around the house and yard, read, walked and dog walked, and other stuff. The dogs, or at least Idina, didn’t want to walk much, so I played with them in the back a lot. I am very physical when I play with Fiyero, chasing him, wrestling him for the ball/toy, etc. He is a boxer, so loves it. I also set up a keyboard and played a bit, but not as much as I had planned. I didn’t want to be inside!

I’m not sure exactly how I will let my day go today. I do plan on being outside as much as possible!

That being said, I do need to get moving again.

Thanks for stopping by! If you have a coffee share, I will try to visit, but no promises.

Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkzlinkup to see all of the other shares!

Oh – I have decided to use my pages “badge” for the linkup so it is the same every week despite the kaleidoscope of photos I use for the share itself..

That’s so awesome you were able to take a mini staycation!! I’ve never heard of a badge, so I’ll explore my WP sight. I’m so late to the party, but am enjoying catching up. 😀

The mini-vaction/stay-cation was great! Hope you had a good weekend and have a great week. Oh, “badge” – in the linkup I used part of the graphic at the top of my page, the main “Trent’s World” one, so I can be consistent no matter which photo I use.

I do like being close to the water so I don’t have to worry about putting it on my car, though I do have the equipment for when I need it.
Glad you are able to make it to the water and are enjoying spring :) Have a wonderful week!

I like the badge that you used for the coffee share on the Links page. Should have no trouble finding it. Sounds like a wonderful week. Love the idea of getting out on the water, although I am more familiar with canoeing. Walking among trees and along the water’s edge. I miss that, also. I did get in some exercise and ventured out of doors. Dry, here, and so looking forward to tonight’s forecasted rain. Best wishes for your week!

I’ve been using that badge for some linkups, so I think it is a good idea here too, particularly since I have been using different “mug shots” at the top of the page.
It was a great week and I love being outside. Canoeing is nice, but I enjoy kayaking more. For one thing, it is easier to do by yourself. I also feel more freedom since the kayak is so super maneuverable.
Glad you got some exercise in. I hope you have a wonderful week!

It was a great week. I know, I’m not the type of person who sits on the beach to relax, I run and kayak ;) Hope you have a great week

Sounds like a nice ‘spring break’s! I miss dog play! My 14 year old still romps like a puppy, racing around squeaking his toys, but he gets offended if you try to play with him now. He also stopped destroying toys. Now they all have names that he knows them by and he brings his favorite with him almost everywhere! 😂

The named toys is so funny, but shows how smart puppies are. Sometimes Fiyero is content to just play by himself, but sometimes he needs interaction. And then when he and Idina get going…. you can only stand back and watch.

How we face death is as important as how we face life, and at times, I’d rather do both outside, though, of course, there are no right answers ;) It has been a good week and a great weekend. i hope you continue to enjoy the out-of-doors.

I’m glad you got a few days off! What a lovely place you have to retreat to! It’s been COLD and wet here, after last week’s 80s we were in the 40s as highs, with freezing temps at night. Yesterday was 46 and rainy. Today, however, is going to get into the 50s with SUN!!! I want to be outside too, though I have two writing projects to get done for truck safety stuff. And outside what I really need to do is clean up garden beds. I’d rather be walking in the woods, but garden beds are better than doing laundry inside! (Which needs to be done too, but I’m ignoring it.)

It has mostly been in the 50s here (warmer inland), but yesterday was quite warm. When it is 57, sunny and no wind, it feels great, so I don’t care – I like it better than 87! I hope you do make it outside, even if it is only to clean up the garden beds.

I told hubby that I wanted a kayak, or small canoe… He LAUGHED! He just shook his head and said: “But, dearest, you can’t even swim.” Being who I am, I looked back at him, smiled and said: “That’s what life jackets are for!” After the week I’ve had, I need a life jacket just to navigate on dry land. Have a great week.

That is what life jackets are about ;) You always wear one, but the idea is that you never need one! I have never gone in unintentionally, and flat water is fun – you may paddle for years never be in water over head.
There are times we need life jackets on dry land! Hope you feel you aren’t drowning next week!

I remember once trying to dive in a life jacket…talk about hilarious. But, I had to prove that it was impossible to sink before I’d trust the jacket at camp. Used to really annoy me when they made me wear one even in the pool. Then, I took the 10ft canoe out to the middle of the lake that was about 80-90ft deep, intentionally flipped it. I flipped it back, climbed back in, and paddled to shore… all to prove to the camp counselor & powers that be that I was perfectly capable of doing so, taking the canoe out alone, even if I couldn’t swim above water. After that, I never asked, I just got up before sunrise grabbed a jacket and paddles and headed to the dock.
