I am looking for inspiration
I try a few words at random
I look back at some old works
I scan my images
But I have nothing
Where is the muse?
I’m left dry
Empty
Blank

This was written for Colleen’s weekly poetry challenge. Today was poet’s choice. I had nothing, so… I wrote a nonet. ;)

Photo is me with my “Covid-long hair” – I’m going for that early 1970s Prog Rock star look ;)

The perfect description of writer’s block! Love the poem and the hair! :)

Thanks! Sometimes the muse only pretends to be gone to influence other types of writing ;) I most likely won’t keep the “Covid-long/70s rock star” hair much longer, but I won’t cut it too short.

Awesome. A lot of people here were looking pretty shaggy before our governor lifted our mandates. 🙂

I’ve seen a few shaggy people, but the funny thing is that see more beards than long hair – during the first lockdown last year, a lot of guys I know grew beards, and a lot of them have decided to keep them.

LOLOL Yep! I’ve seen that too! They found a new style! :D

Isn’t it amazing that you can write about nothing and have something? This is an excellent nonet that shows us that there is always something to write about. <3

If you have nothing to write about, write about it ;) Thanks, Collen.

Mine has a tendency to duck out on me too🙂.

Sometimes she is bombarding me with so many ideas I could never hope to keep up, and then she disappears at the most inopportune times… Oh well, such is life when trying to be creative ;) Thanks.

Trent, I’m sorry your muse was out playing in the sunshine today, feeling the fresh breezes rustle and muss her hair. I hope she returns soon, bringing with her, the flow of poetry. :)

I wish I was out there with her, playing in the sunshine and breeze instead of stuck inside at work, and maybe I would have been more creative for it ;)

I thought it was pretty creative. Look what it made me think of – and I’m not that imaginative! :)

lol, maybe my muse was out visiting my readers. Of course, that might be what a muse is supposed to do, help you make words to inspire others :) Thanks.

LOL. I don’t think so. I don’t normally write like that. You know me, I’m pretty down to earth, describe what I see and nothing more. I think that was your muse definitely beckoning you to come out and play for a bit and have fun . That’s what she was doing to me. Maybe she WAS doing that with your readers. She is definitely not on my site or I would be writing more poetry and short stories. :)

Yeah, she might have just been hanging out on my page, teasing people as they stop in….

I think she was. She was flipping her hair, smiling at each blogger, saying, “I’ve left Trent inside with nothing to write about, but have I got some ideas for you! They will aMUSE you!” And then she turns to the next guest , and starts a different conversation, leaving poor Trent inside wondering why his screen is still blank. :)

Tuesday is coming back. Meanwhile, you do something almost every day don’t you, Trent. What challenges do you do?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I typically post 4 or 5 days a week. Besides Colleen’s challenge, I do the Friday Fictioneers (usually on Wednesday ;) ); Write Photo on Thursday, though not as consistent as when Sue Vincent was alive and running it; the Weekend Coffee Share on Saturday, which I have been part of since 2014; and I run my own, The Weekly Smile, on Mondays. Plus I will post random stories, photo posts, reviews, etc.

That’s a lot, Trent. I’d love to do an interview. I think I’ve asked you before, but the offer is always open whenever you are interested. :)

Thanks, I might be interested. Actually, if you did ask before, it was most likely bad timing on my side more than lack of interest. What format do you do your interviews?

If you go to my Interview page, you will find links to all of them. They are somewhat different in style, but they all include work – either photographic or written of the person interviewed. They all include a shout out to other influential bloggers, and sometimes I’ve pulled comments from others who read the interviewee’s blog. It’s basically an in depth examination of the blog and the connection to Photo and Writing challenges. Here’s the link. https://tchistorygal.net/challenge-interview-series/

With just a quick glance I recognize most of the names. I’ll have to go back and look at a few when I have more time.

Thanks! When I get my second shot I will cut it a bit shorter, but not super short!
She (my muse) may have been lurking in the background there, but not hitting me over the head ;)
