You’re in prison?! What happened?
I decided to save some money and move our doublewide mobile home myself. Bob took the right half, I took the left.
Bob? Oh no…
Bob did OK and delivered it fine. I had never driven a big-rig and didn’t know you needed a special license. Or training…
What happened?
I was making a left from 42 onto Main…
The busiest intersection in town.
…and misjudged the corner. I got stuck blocking all lanes from all directions.
Oh no.
When I didn’t have ID, the police asked where I lived.
You didn’t!
I said, “Here…”

Oh, man, you’re gonna get me kicked outa McD’s with cackling laughter! The local constibulary is giving me the “eye” of concern. hehehe! That was, funny. I was just picturing 42 & main in my home town. It’s a tight corner on a good day for large trucks.

lol, I don’t want to get you into trouble. if the constable approaches, just don’t give a smart-alec answer like this guy :) I am not sure why I picked “42 & Main”, it just sounded like a typical downtown of a small town street corner.

Oh dear, not so inexpensive after-all. Maybe not the best answer to the police? Very clever story, Trent!

In the long run this will be a far, far more expensive option. Sometimes the police do not have a sense of humor about those things… Thanks.

It was an honest answer, just not the one the cop was hoping for! Excellent Trent.

An honest answer, but perhaps not the best one for the situation… Thanks.

We all learn the hard way, it is better to employ experts for those big jobs.

Yes, ask a professional, and don’t be a smart-alec to a cop unless you are willing to pay the price…

You made me smile with that story, Trent. Telling it in dialogue is very effective, allowing you to interject comments to make the points sharper, e.g. “You didn’t!”

Thanks! I didn’t think it would be as funny as a straight narrative, and from your words, looks like I made the right choice.

If only one could pick up a home and move at a wim. Heck I would possibly never stop moving.

There are people who do that – live in trailers and just keep moving. One of my co-workers has a big trailer and plans on spending the first 5 or 10 years of his retirement on the road… These mobile homes, though, aren’t very mobile. Unless a tornado comes by….

Dear Trent,
What he saved in transport he’ll make up for in bail. I couldn’t help but laugh. Very funny.
