The Weekly Smile for the 17th of May, 2021 #weeklysmile

Hi all. It was an interesting week. Although it rushed by, there actually was a lot to smile about.

A big smile is that I received my second Covid vaccine.

Last week I talked about our new kitten, Alexander. you can be sure he brought a lot of smiles!

Although the temperatures go up and down and some days seem frigid and others hot, this weekend there was another one of those times that felt like a switched being flipped. We went from the early to mid spring straight to late spring. There are leaves on most of the trees and it was getting quite warm. This entire week will be warm to hot. The air feels different.

Part of that change of seasons was putting away the last of my winter clothes and getting out the rest of my summer clothes. I also took down a lot of the plastic covering windows and opened them up to let fresh air in. I did some lawn mowing. So I finally finished that change to summer mode.

I also finished a music project that I spent a lot of time on. I haven’t done a post on it yet, so I won’t give much detail, but I will post a video at the bottom of the page.

So this is another one of those “it’s all of the little things” post, though I could call it “smiling as the season switches to late spring”.

What made you smile?

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).   Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile.  (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

I just viewed one of your photographs on RuthScribbles – it was fabulous! and I learnt something new about you: did not realise that you were a photographer as well (in addition to the many other talents you possess!)

I assume it was the waterfall for the poetry challenge – thanks! I do a lot of photography off and on, though I haven’t posted many lately. I take a lot of pictures of birds, like the osprey I mentioned the other day, and such, but I am not a “birder”.

You have so many creative pursuits! And you excel in them all!

I hear you on the “birding”. Those are the folks with the huge cameras mounted on tripods who stand for hours waiting for that one perfect shot.

I did read it it earlier. very good. Technically might not fit into the weekly smile, but (shrug), it is something that made you smile and perhaps others as well, so…

I have 2 cats. They make me smile every day, more than once!
AH… a young dog walking with his owner. The dog was so excited about EVERYTHING! He was here, he went there, when the leash ran out he jumped, he wrapped it around his guys legs, he was in front, he was behind, he smelled everything, his world was the best!

With my two dogs going every which way, I have learned ballet lol As one dog starts to wind around me, I jump and twist around to keep the leashes going the right way. I think everyone in town thinks I’m a bit eccentric, but those who know me understand that I’m a lot eccentric ;)

And cats are great! We are back to two cats, and Alexander never fails to bring smiles every day :)

The new kitten is great! He is moved in and took over the pace instantly ;)

It feels great to get the second shot. Glad you will get yours shortly, though I am sure that you must have some immunity built up from begin sick. Still, much better to be safe!

      Have a great week!

Thanks, Robbie, it was a great week overall. I am happy to have the second vaccination. Not returning to normal quiet yet, but another huge step in the right direction.
