Hello and Welcome! Come on over and take a seat. It feels great out here right now, even in shorts, but will get warm later. We are expecting a heat wave that will last until, I think, Thursday. But it is a beautiful morning, so let me get you a large mug of super dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. Oh, where are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top as being New Hampshire.
I drove home from Cape Cod on Sunday morning. It was a rainy and cold weekend! It had been very hot, so the house stayed warm throughout, but still – the temps were flat-lined at 46 F/8 C and it rained almost continuously late Friday night through Monday morning. Yuck. But then Monday turned out pretty good. i took the day off of work on Tuesday, and it was a great day! I feel I got more done Tuesday that the entire weekend, including Monday.
Oh, we received our first batch of farm fresh produce from a local CSA (Customer Supported Agriculture) on Tuesday! It is all greens this early, but still great!
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were super busy at work after my min-vacation!
This week I walked and played with dogs, cat play (I have a kitten, you know), ran (Tuesday and Thursday) exercised, walked on my own, talked to neighbors, played music (played instruments, not listened to music…), read, etc. I also did a lot of editing. A few years ago I wrote a serialized book using prompts from Sue Vincent. I downloaded all of the chapters last Friday and have been trying to shape it into a real book. We’ll see.
Today I am going to run before it gets too hot and start my mowing and yard work. I will, of course walk and play with the dogs, play with the kitten, etc.
Oh real quick, a few weeks ago I took some photos for Coffee Shares from Cape Cod. Here is a preview of the two I will most likely use.

I know, it has a chip… I grabbed my camera and favorite of the five Beatles mugs and went for a walk. Only later did I see the chip. Oh well.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are having a great weekend. If you have a coffee share post, I will try to visit, but no promises.
Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkzlinkup to see all of the other shares!
Oh – a few weeks ago I decided to use my page’s “badge” for the InLinkz linkup page so it is the same every week despite the kaleidoscope of photos I use for the share itself. Hope this makes it easier for you :)

The chip keeps it “real”. :) We have a lot of CSA’s around where I live but I’ve never joined one yet. I’ve interested though.

I do enjoy the fresh vegetables from our CSA. They are all different, but I’d recommend joining one.

I Love the Beatles mugs, chip in it gives it character!! Furry friends are the best way to spend the weekend, and I know you get outside tons too!! I hope it doesn’t get to hot there as we are supposed to get a bit cooler and maybe some rain in the forecast! I posted a very late coffee share, one of these weekends I’ll try and get it together earlier! Have a great week ahead! 😀 ~ D

It was a good weekend of furry friends and time spent outside. It was hot (for here) in the 90s and humid. Hope you had a great weekend. I’ll stop by in a few to see your coffee share.

I had a great weekend, despite temps in the 90s (yeah, I know, but it is hot for here ;) ). I hope you had a great weekend as well and that you have a wonderful week!

I think we hit 97 and very high humidity – so, yeah, it was hot…. Today will be another 95+ day.

Phew. That’s hot. Seems like DFW is turning into Houston. Pouring rain again today. So temps will prob stay in 70s with thick clouds

I was on a meeting this morning with people form OKC – they were talking about how cold and wet it was there…. I’m assuming Dallas is pretty similar right now.

Yes. Brr. For me, when it rains it is extra cold – to me!

Me too. That’s why when we went from mid 90s to 40 and raining over Memorial Day weekend it felt super cold, and then out new heat feels even hotter!

With or without some signs of age, The Beatles are still great and Rubber Soul is still one of their best albums….

Hi Trent,
Great to catch up again. Not sure whether you’ve missed me or not or wondered whether I’d gone to bloggers’ heaven. I had trouble adjusting to the new time for the coffee share and got out of routine with blogging and have been flat out ding my WWI research and writing and am making good headway. A very dear friend also ended up in intensive care and passed away from cancer and her funeral was Monday. I spoke which was much more intense and time consuming than expected as I need to cut it back to three minutes, which left me with no slack at all. It’s Winter here and just a bit chilly and around 16 degrees Celsius during the day.
Hope youre doing well.
Best wishes,
Rowena

Hi Rowena, it’s great to “see” you! I am very sorry about your friend. Glad that your research is going well, even if time consuming. The starting time for the Coffee Share has changed, but I still post at the same time, I’m just one of the last instead of one of the first! There are a few old faces, but mostly new.
As long as it is sunny, 17 sounds fine to me…. We went from sing digit C to 30+ overnight, and then yo-yo between single digits and the 30s (if it never got about 25 C, I would be happy…)
Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week!

Always a great time hanging out with the animals whether it indoors or out. The Beatles are always cool weather their chipped or not. Hope your weekend is grand my friend.

I do like hanging with the animals, in or out. I had 6 or 7 Beatles mugs at one time, but a few are lost. I do have a few left and should use them in more photos…

I like how the first mug almost fits into the background you have it set in. I haven’t been out but was told it was hot and Monday I have to go out to get to the doctor’s office. Hopefully, I will get this walking boot off. My leg is so uncomfortable with it on and so I am on pins and needles while I wait.

Thanks. Hope your weekend went well and that you are able to get the walking boot off soon – anything that limited my mobility would be very difficult for me.

The boot remains for a few more weeks unfortunately. Not quite healed. I am not very active, but this has me down.

I have a friend in TN that gets produce from CSA. I should check and see what’s available around here. We planted the tomatoes yesterday, but that’s all we planted, so I have to go to a farmers’ market or depend on the grocery store for produce.

We have some tomatoes ready to plant, but doing the CSA for produce is great. You should look around and see if there are any. My town had one of the first two CSAs in the country, so they are very popular here.

Slodging along over here ;)
And I made the closing post date to be Sunday the 13th because his bday was mid week
And who knows – if this goes well we could do another dickens challenge next year between Feb and June –
Either way – already I feel like this was a success because of the connecting with you, Derrick and a few others – and we generated some chatter about this lesser known work of a master writer

I will put out a reminder post today and then do my “real post” on Tuesday. I hope I am better prepared if we do another one! I do want to read a few of the classics that I missed.

I’ll admit that though I always remembered it was coming up, I was in denial about how soon! If we do it again I hope I’ll be a bit more organized – I think for me it was just the difficulty in getting into the book. Oh well…

OK, I think I will do a “starting post” on Wednesday (the 9th) and then wait until the weekend for the real post. Maybe 5 take aways, but I am not sure. I am thinking what I liked and what I didn’t and why I didn’t finish ;)

hmmmm – okay – i might do that too – not sure now / but have ideas at least – and i will definitely share if i got a feel for dorrit in book compared to dorrit in that BBC series i watched that led me to the book

If you didn’t see it: https://trentsworld.blog/2021/06/06/the-little-dorrit-challenge-dickens/ I will most likely do a quick intro on the 9th and then my “real” post on Thursday or Friday.

A Christmas Tale is also very short, which is saying a lot for Dickens ;) lol, that might be a huge plus.

Hey,Y, how are you? A cold tea coming up. It was hot here today as well, and will get hotter. The two Beatles mug shots were at the landing less than a quarter of a mile from my house. I put my kayak in the water from the little beach area.
Thanks for stopping by – hope your weekend is going well!

And nice to have a kayak spot so close

Our old place on Cape Cod was across the street from a landing, so when we were house hunting again, having a place to put the kayak in near by, so it never had to go on the car, was the top requirement for me…

Your weekend sounds somewhat similar to mine. Mine is filled with dogs again (and a cat this time,) and I have some plans to meet with friends on Sunday. I might do a coffee weekend share post myself this time. We’ll see. I really like the looks of your mug in the first photo.
