Hello and Welcome! Come on over, take a seat and I’ll grab you a mug of very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is nice out here, not too warm though plenty humid. A slight breeze is coming in off of the cove behind the house. Can you see it out there, beyond the hammock and through the trees? Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
I have been here on The Cape for a little over a week. As I said in in the last coffee share, I had last Friday off as an unexpected holiday. I also took Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off, so I had a little vacation down here! I did long walks on my favorite beach, swims in the ocean at the closer beach, runs beside the beach, long walks in the woods and saltwater marshes and did a few long paddles on the kayak. In fact I just got back from a paddle! I also did the typical dog walks and dog play, strength exercise, reading, writing, etc.
I guess something not too typical is shopping for appliances. yes, a few weeks ago I said I bought a new fridge back in New Hampshire. Down here we placed an order for a fridge over a year ago, so we went down and asked about it. Long complaints, but we’ll soon have a new fridge here. We found another appliance store that was a thousand times better and bought a washer and drier. We’ll have it delivered the next time we are down! It’s getting closer to being a real home…
We also organized the house a little more and may buy a “new” china cabinet today. We do have one, but there is a shortage of great storage here. Again, it is slowly getting more home-like.
I did have a couple of days work, which were mostly catching up from my mini-vacation.
And that is mostly it. I have a full day planned, though I am not 100% sure about mowing – it will be a few weeks before I am back, so most likely I will…
Thanks for stopping by! As i said, I need to be outside, not sitting at a computer! I hope you are having a great weekend. If you have a coffee share post, I will try to visit, but no promises.
Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkzlinkup to see all of the other shares!

Oh, I forgot! I will not be doing a coffee share post next week. If you don’t see me, no worries, I am going to spend a week with my parents and plan to be 100% off grid, at least were social media is concerned. It will be the first time I’ve seen any family in two years, so…
so glad you will get to see family and wow – two years! safe travels T

“Off grid” is a relative term ;) I will pretty much stay away from social media, though I most likely will still have to check e-mail on occasion… Thanks! I hope you have a wonderful week :)

…as long as the ‘occasion’ is very rare! 😉 We all need some ‘away’ time! 😉 You too, my friend.

It will be nice to visit after not seeing them for two years :) I forget, you are in MI, right? Yep, not too far from there. Have a great week!

I kind of like appliance shopping. I don’t like putting the money out for it but I like looking at all the shiny appliances with new upgrades and tricks. As for the china cabinet that sounds like a fun shopping adventure too. I inherited one last year and it is on my list to re-finish this summer.
Thanks for the virtual coffee Trent. Hope you have a great week.

I’m not sure I share your enthusiasm for appliance shopping ;) Typically I only do it when I have to spend money. Unfortunately the china cabinet fell through, though if he still has it in two weeks we will most likely buy it.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great week as well.

It has been two years since I’ve seen any of them, so it should be nice :) I will be up in north-central to north-west Ohio – my parents live close to Lake Erie and I occasionally make a run with my dad half way to Toledo (Mcgee Marsh bird refuge). Not quite your neck of the woods, but much closer than NH is!

How great you were able to extend a day off into a mini vacation. And even more exciting I am so happy you are able to go visit with your parents!! Life is feeling a little more normal each and every day and I sure am appreciating it every day. I Love your photo, the yard looks so beautiful and green! I think enjoying that hammock in the breeze sounds wonderful! Enjoy your family time and thank you for the coffee! :D

My mini-vacation was already planned – I have taken this time off as a full week since 2001 and have used it on Cape Cod since 2005! This year it had to be short because of upcoming trip to visit family, so having that added day was a bonus :)
It will be nice to visit with family over the 4th. It has been two years, so… My parents usually come this way in late August or early September but couldn’t in 2019, so with last year’s travel restrictions…
have a great week!

we ran into similar major appliance delays with a replacement stove we need. So frustrating! Glad your situation is working out better than ours.
Cheers and blessings anyway.

There have been a lot of issues with appliances over the last year and a half, and, though frustrating, is understandable. This place, though, was just awful to work with. Good luck with your stove! Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week.

Glad you got the new toys for the house sorted lots of new buttons to push, so frustrating when something so simple ends up complex. Great to hear your out & about playing in the sunshine & for an extended time, yay. Hope your weekend turns out as fun filled.

Our current refrigerator is ancient and not efficient – food goes bad in it very rapidly. We don’t have a washer and dryer, which means the laundromat. So getting new appliances is a must! It was nice to have some time off to get out and about :) Hope you had a great weekend and have a wonderful week ahead!

A year for a refrigerator!?!? I imagine those complaints are well warranted! Hope you enjoy your family time!

Yeah. We were told August or September. We called in August, but no luck and we never heard back… Anyway, they have been struck from our list. Thanks! Hope you are having a good weekend!

Thanks, Natalie. It was a good week, even if I did work a couple of days. The Cape house is a very long term project, but it is nice to see some progress now and again. And hopefully the family visit will be good – it’s been two years since I have seen any family! Thanks for stopping in!

Thanks, Robbie. the house is coming along. It is a long term project, but it is nice to see forward movement on it. The mini-holiday was nice, even if it was a bit of a “stay-cation”. Hope your weekend is goign well.
