wild cacophony
a living emerald tower
combing the blue sky
*
leaf fresh breeze
order in chaos
the world’s lungs
***
These were written for Colleen’s weekly poetry challenge. Today we were to use the words Green and Morass, but could only use synonyms. I wrote two haikus, one the “old fashioned” 5-7-5 form, the other in 3-5-3 form.
The photo is my backyard in New Hampshire.
Lovely picture and poem, Trent! :D

Fab backyard, Trent!
Yes… trees are lungs. Seems the planet can’t stop smoking.
Adore your Haikus!

Thanks, Resa! If you look out my front window, I am in the middle of a village, but if you look out back, I seem to be a million miles away… I do wish our species could give up that smoking habit and let the trees do their job!

Wow, a wood does look like a comb. Never thought of that before.

Thanks, I’m glad you liked that expression. My first thought was “combing the clouds”, but “the blue sky” fit the poem better.
