Some of you may have noticed that my blogging has slowed down considerably over the last week. Pretty much I have been too busy to blog. I’ve put up a few posts (I write very fast), but have done very little reading. I’ve also missed a few of the weekly challenges I usually participate in.
It is part being busy at work, part being busy writing/reading/editing and partly being busy doing fun, summer stuff. Even though I am working, I have company visiting so don’t want to have my nose in a computer when I am not working.
It is summer, so I am doing summer stuff :) Being old fashioned, “summer stuff” does not include electronics (though I have been using them since they are part of modern life…). “Summer stuff” includes, but is no limited to!, mowing, gardening, swimming, kayaking, cookouts, beaches, meeting friends and family, outdoor chores, indoor cleanup, woods, photography, etc. Cellphones and computers are NOT on that list ;)
So that is my smile for the week, too busy doing “summer stuff” to be on the blog much.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

As always, one of my grandkids brings a smile. When stepping out of the car, she happened to see two deer. Oh can I go? I instructed to not look right at them, but to do as if ignoring them, if she wanted them to stay. She had a blast! Emille (former: Jesh)

That is pretty cool. I always enjoy seeing deer, and I know it is special for kids, particularly if they are close.

“Summer stuff” is a great weekly smile. I can’t believe that we are into August and just into August but 11 days into August. Summer goes fast and we need to make the most out of those outdoor and non-electronic smiles!

The summer is going by too fast! I guess I do need to do more “summer stuff” and will take every opportunity to do it :) Hope you are having a good week.

Your summer stuff sounds lovely, and it’s okay to take some time off from blogging to relish these. You will return armed with more stories.
I’ve also been blogging sparingly, except for #WordlessWednesday. Hoping to return with a few stories in September.
Lovely smiles. Here are mine:

And more coming up soon, Trent.
Have a wondrous week!

I do occasionally have planned slowdowns and breaks, but this one was a bit unplanned… When it is unplanned it means I need the break even more! I do plan on enjoying more of the summer, and hope you are enjoying yours as well :)

Continue to enjoy summer moments while the weather holds! It is wonderful to have other diversions other than tech!

Thanks! It is good to get away from the tech on occasion and just enjoy life away from a screen :)

Sounds like a perfect summer — a nice balance of friends, family, recreation, and relaxation! Unplugging from the computer and social media is good for the spirit, heart and soul! Enjoy!

Thanks! I am working most of the week, so that makes my time not working “more valuable”, that is, I need to do those summer things with family and such when I’m not on the clock (I am teleworking, so that helps)

Too much going on to spend all day in front of a computer or phone…

Understand – company is more important than blogging:) My weekly smile is of course my grand following the deer!Emile (Jesh)

Sounds great, Trent. I do blog during summertime as it comprises most of the year here.

Most of the time I blog through summer unless I am away and can’t, but occasionally, like this week, I just don’t feel like it :)

I’d say you’re doing it exactly right. Life comes before social media.

I have a little saying the life is what happens when you are away from the computer, or at the very least, away from social media.
