Hi All! Last week was a very busy week, but mostly busy in a good way. I did work for most of the week (well, a little over half), and it was super busy at work. I also did a lot of work around my Cape Cod house. But I also had some fun :) I had a nephew and a niece visit.
Many of the things I did were pretty close to “normal”, such as long walks in the woods or on the beach and kayaking. But there was also stuff with the kids. I went to the beach and swam on my own, which was fine, but it was different swimming with the kids. I kayaked by myself, which is always at an almost racing pace, and also kayaked while my niece was on the stand up paddle board. that is much, much slower, but it is sometimes nice to just enjoy the water, the views, etc. and not paddle like a maniac ;)
i did have a lot of time alone since the kids had surfing lessons at a beach 45 minutes away. They did a lot with my wife (they are actual her family). But that is fine.
Their dad (my wife’s brother) did a quick visit to drop them off and then came down with their mom on Saturday. Unfortunately I have a ton of stuff to do in New Hampshire, so had to drive back on Sunday. It is nice that they are able to visit, though.
So that was smile this week, having kids with us down on the Cape.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile. (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

Kiddie time! They do change up the pace of the things you do, don’t they? Sounds like you all had a lovely bonding time!

Sometimes it is nice to upset the routines, and there is nothing that can do that better than having a couple of kids in the house… yeah, it is was a good time :)

Sounds you had a great week with a lot of variety! My actual smile would be hard to photograph – hubby discovered the water of the air-conditioning was stopped up, and turned into trying to suck out the water – no machine was strong enough. So ended up putting a new drain line through the closet so he wouldn’t have to open up a wall – told him, who looks in the closet?? Am glad he took my suggestion!! Smile – Emile (Jesh)

Glad you found a fix for the AC – I am sure it helps. Are you in Texas now? I know life is pretty difficult without good, working AC there!
