Weekly Smile for the 30th of August, 2021 #weeklysmile

Just real quick, since I am busy…

So last week I introduced “James Bond”. Well, James was sick. We worried about him did a lot of stuff.

Even Fiyero was worried.

We finally got some antibiotics. Yesterday morning, first James drank water on his own! Slowly he started to eat again. Now he is always hungry!

One thing, we changed his name. He started with James, and we are keeping it. He is James T. Kirk, but known as Tiberius. All of our cats have been royalty, and he have had an emperor in the past (Claudius) and currently have Alexander the Great, so Tiberius works..

My smile is a kitten that is now eating!

What made you smile?

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).   Next week I will compile all of the Smiles and do a separate post of them on Monday morning just before the smile.  (I will shoot for around 7 AM EST).

We usually change the names of the pets we get, so I was a little surprised we were keeping “James”. “Gracie” was an older cat when she came into our lives, so we renamed her “Grace Kelly”, which is close, but royalty, like all cats ;)

yeah – nothing new under the sun!
and our lab in 2005 was sir steven paul of canterbury royals – coming from a line of show dogs but had a spot on his tongue and wouldn’t make the cut – something like that!
anyhow – when he was getting “fixed” – the vet tech said something like “that is a mighty name tongue into ”
        🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
        names can be fun
and you know our most recent family dog-member is elway – well his knick name is “smell way” and so that name got him to a T, ya know T!
        hahah

Elway sounds like a football name to me (our first dog was Brady, so…). “Smell way” sounds like a typical dog ;) We’ve had a few very long names as well, though maybe not as many words as Sir Steven. Things like Elliot Carter McDonald (if you don’t know Elliott Carter, he was one of the greatest 20th century American composers. We dropped a “t”).

I read hat you left off one “T”
and pup sitting is kind of fun – and an empty nest kind of availability – but truly will be glad to go back to one dog – hahaha
and only one complaint officially – last Thursday I could have slept in until 9 but had to get up at 6:30 to supervise the visiting dog – – and trent – he also is not kennel trained – so even though they bought him a giant nice kennel for his stay here – because he has not found it a home (like most pups we know) he tries to open it (make that he bent it all up the only time we had to leave him in it for a few hours) – anyhow, hope the owners don’t read this – hahah –

Although Idina and Fiyero have spent time in crates and should be trained, only Idina truly is – she loves her crate and goes in it when she is feeling out of sorts. It gives her comfort. I could see Fiyero bending one, though….

Thanks for sharing that – it amazes me how some pups really find the comfortable bed it can be – while others never do
By the way – The walk with three of the pups went well – a lot of fun and I guess my son’s dog is my grand puppy so that ice to have grand puppy time –

Cats can be crazy but kittens really are crazy with their pounces lol. I am glad he is feeling better what does the other young cat think of this one?

Alexander is beginning to warm up, and not run away every time Tiberius pounces on him ;) They do hang out together, and the play is getting better, so I do have high hopes. Yesterday when Tiberius had a major coughing fit, Alexander ran over to him to make sure he was doing OK, so I think all is good :)

It was a huge relief! And now that he is playing like a normal kitten, getting into all sorts of mischief and driving the other animals crazy with the boundless energy and constant pounces, I have an ear to ear grin :)

All of our cats have been named after royalty (Claudius, Grace Kelly, Albert (from the king’s speech), Josephine (Bonaparte), etc). For some reason, it is fitting for cats… It is odd that Roddenberry chose that name – he was one who always looked at the bright side of humanity. It is such a relief to see little Tiberius playing like a normal kitten! Or is he playing like s spoiled emperor? I guess the same…

OMG! Tiberius is adorable, what a cutie patutie and I am so glad he is on the mend and doing better. I loved the photo of Fiyero with the kitten as you can see how small he is, so cute. I love the names you choose! James T. Kirk and then calling him Tiberius!! So Cool! I can’t believe Aug. is almost over and I put together a fun Smile post. At least I had fun putting it together! Busy days for sure!! Thanks so much for hosting as I Love the Smiles!! :D and no worries about a recap, we can check them out on the original post!

Very busy days! This is the first time I looked at my computer after posting the smile. Tiberius is super cute. He is also acting like a normal kitten, or like the original Tiberius, I’m not sure which ;) He’s still congested and will be on the antibiotics for another week, but it is great to see him play nonstop. I’ll be by to see your fun smile soon :)

He is still congested and coughing – he will be on his antibiotics for another week – but there is a night and day difference in his behavior as he recovers :) I’ve been off line for a few days, but will stop by soon.

Right now he is very dramatic, the way that only kittens and William Shatner can be ;) I have read that Tiberius started out as one of the best emperors but became more decadent and and such as time went on. I hope our Tiberius mellows as he ages ;) Now that he is well, he is terrorizing all of the other animals with his non-stop playing.

It is so great to see him playing and carrying on like a normal kitten! He is driving all of the other animals crazy with his energy, but after sleeping all day before, that energy makes me smile :)
