Wow! Cool beam weapon! Is this part of the Planetary Defense?
Kid has some imagination… No, it’s just a telescope. We use it to observe the cosmos.
Oh, I get it, secret identity and all. Turned one way and it gathers light and lets you see billions of light years, turned the other and it concentrates the light into a super beam. You can both see them coming and shoot them down.
I’m sorry, this is purely scientific.
Right. Your secret is safe with me.

Friday Fictioneers is hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. This week’s prompt is here and uses a photo by @ Douglas M. MacIlroy. If you want to join or see other stories, go to the inlinkz linkup.
It has been months sine I joined FF! I took a short break, and the short break seemed to stretch on and on… Not sure how easy it will be to visit everyone, but I will try….
The muse as a child. Well done, Trent.

That kid’s got some trouble coming his way :-)

He might. That, or a very bright future in the Planetary Deference Team ;)

So kids do sometimes have the answer after all. Good take on the prompt

Sometimes if you want to know the truth, ask the nearest kid ;)

He seems like a future Dr NO ready to destroy and conquer.

Maybe, but I see him more as wanting to be part of that Planetary Defense System than wanting to destroy it…

Funny story and I loved it. I hope the kid makes it home while he’s still a kid!

He should be safe, even if very, very closely watched…. Thanks.

I hope the kid doesn’t pay a high price for his perspicacity!

My guess is that they will leave him alone… but watch him very closely! If he doesn’t say anything, he may end up on the team some day.

When you look at the photo, don’t you think it’s some scri-fi weapon? ;) Thanks!

You just can’t tell some people… but it is also possible that some people can see through your facade. ;)

I like it. I heard on the news last night that a Kayaker had been lost of the coast of the Cape, and I said a prayer that it wasn’t you. Also prayers for that family. So, I’m really glad that you checked in this week. I’ve missed your writing. Leave it to a child to see past the facade… Love it!

Thanks for the concern. If you heard that yesterday, I am glad I joined today so you knew right away.
A super-weapon or super hero, a think a child will be the first to figure it out ;)

Thanks. The photo looks more like something from a sci-fi movie than real life so…
