Hello and Welcome! Come on over and I will get you a nice, super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or hot cocoa. It is a little chilly, but the sun feels great. Oh, were are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
I drove down to the Cape on Sunday evening, two kittens in the car with me. We were greeted by the pups, who had been down since Thursday evening. The pups acted like it had been years…
I was able to do a few Cape Cod type of things this week, like long walks on the beach and such. Besides that, I ran, I walked (besides those couple of beach walks, mostly in the neighborhood, which means to the two landings), I did a little work and puttered around the yard, I exercised, and I ate. Hey, it was Thanksgiving week, what do you expect? Yes, we ate out twice and had a big, turkey-less dinner for T-day – turkey makes me very ill….
Besides that, I did work on the computer and I played a lot of music, though my “studio” is up in New Hampshire. I did a little writing, including the first piece of flash I’ve done in a while (to me “flash fiction” is over 500 words, less than 1500. Micro-fiction is less than 500 words.) I read and did a little studying. Played with cats and dogs, etc. In other words, the usual.
Work was fine. I took Friday off, which meant that I only worked Monday through Wednesday. I also had a few hours off at the end of the day on Wednesday, so…
Over all I had a pretty good week and hopefully will have a good weekend – it is sunny and nice, and I plan on spending a lot of time outside (I’ve been out most of the morning already).
Thanks for stopping by! If you have a coffee share I will try to stop in and say, “Hi!” No promises since I plan on being outside all day and I have to drive back to new Hampshire.
Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

Just as an aside, I have talked about music. You may be thinking things like my recent “Bach project“, but I am starting to look at more pop music. Here is an example of a recent “rough draft” song I recorded. Yes, you may have seen this earlier in the week. Here is the post. Enjoy!

I just posted a new version (new mix)”

I already forgot what the post is about, because I am all into the music. I didn’t see the earlier post (now I’m going to make dinner)…is that you singing?
Love the music!!!!

Thanks, Resa! Yes, me singing. For the most part I hate my voice, but hopefully with practice it will be a little more bearable..

Thank you for the cup of tea and for a song to go with it! Is it an original composition? The change in tempo is such fun!

I’m lucky in that I live in two places that are both very beautiful, and very different. Thanks! I hope you have a great week as well :)

I do enjoy how excited my boxer when she sees me come back into the room. It doesn’t matter if I have only gone up stairs to get something or been gone hours, she is ridiculously happy to see me. It is a great feeling. I tease my family that they should get that excited when I get home, haha. Hope you have a great time enjoying the outside. Thanks for the virtual coffee.

There is something about boxers (Fiyero is curled up at my feet). Yeah, if there were people who responded like that when we enter a room… lol. I did have a great weekend. I hope you did as well and that you have a wonderful week.

Getting away to the cape seems like a nice weekend to me. Especially with the weather being nice enough to take a beach walk.

It is always nice to get away down on the Cape. Of course, I will walk on the beach even when it is -20 and 90 knot winds, so… ;) Hope you had a good weekend.

No thanks, we relieved our own snow up in NH yesterday, so… I’m not sure how much I’ll be returning to – I hope most of it is gone by the time I get home. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are havign a good weekend.

So if Micro is under 500, Flash is 500 to 1500, what is over 1500?? Congratulations(?) on the flash fiction you worked on. – Not sure if “congratulations” is proper or not, LOL. English is my native language (born and raised hearing/speaking, etc) and still have trouble coming up with the right words or knowing exactly what to say to portray thoughts & ideas, etc. Probably the reason I don’t do anything with writing. 😂😂…. I think I’ll leave it to more creative folks like yourself.. Sounds like a fairly good week was had. Seems as though Cape Cod is a frequent destination of yours (or do you live in that area).

I just did a quick Google search, and every site had a completely different definition for the different types of “short story”. lol. These are just my own definition, though I do commonly see the bottom limit of just plain-old “short story” as being 1000 words or 1500 words more often than not, I think my definition works – micro up to 500, flash 500 – 1500 short story 1500 – 15000, novella 15,000 – 35,000, “book length” (or “short book”) 30,000 and up, novel 60,000 and up. Just me, others may be totally different….
I have two houses, one in New Hampshire and one on Cape Cod. I split my time between the two, but the NH house is my primary residence.
I hope you are having a good weekend :)
