The Weekly Smile for the 29th of November, 2021 #weeklysmile

Hi all. I am obviously running behind, since this is being posted almost 5 hours later than usual. Yeah, I had 4 meetings this morning. Oh, and that doesn’t include over 200 new emails in my work email’s “Inbox” when I got in. The afternoon is busy and I am still not close to being caught up. Sigh.

So, where is the smile in all of that? Besides, of course, that I am gainfully employed and such….

Perhaps the reason I am so busy is that I had just a little over 4 days off in a row. I was down on Cape Cod, so I enjoyed some of things that I can do down there, like very long walks on the beach. It was very relaxing. Nice.

Which is great, for I have to return to work. now.

That is my smile for the week, a min-vacation down on Cape Cod.

What made you smile?

(A reminder – There will not be a Smile Recap post next week).

****

Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week.  Why don’t you share it?  I hope you can join in!

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).  Note – I am no longer compiling the Smiles into a Recap post. I’ll try to get the new smile out between 7 and 8:30 Eastern Time.

I captured a mural that I saw a month ago. It was unfinished then. I went back, shot it, walked around for 2 more hours and found 3 more! SMILES!!!!!

Yeah, a lot of people take time off, but… I left early on Wednesday and then there were more people in than usual on Friday. Plus there were a couple of server issues – luckily it didn’t cause a noticeable outage, but there was a lot of email traffic on it. When I go away for week during intense projects in, say, the Spring, I sometimes return to 500 emails! 75% might be junk, but I have to be careful, just in case.

Hope you are having a good week.

Hi Trent, sorry I haven’t visited in a while. Life I guess. Anyway, I smiled a lot this past week as the family and I were out at Martha’s Vineyard for several days. The weather, except for Friday after Thanksgiving was great and we enjoyed spending time in an environment so completely opposite to ours. I’m glad you enjoyed your time at Cape Cod. You live in a beautiful part of the country.

You weren’t too far from me – most of my beach walks this week were on the Nantucket Sound side, so I can almost see MV… Yep, Friday was pretty awful, but the rest of the week was great. Glad you enjoyed your stay up here. Have a great week!

It was great to get those long beach walks in, but it was cold… In the last week or so the weather has decided that it is now winter. We had a little snow in New Hampshire, but it didn’t stay around for long. I have heard that just a few miles away, in the mountains, that they still have quite a bit of snow on the ground. have a great week!

Quite a few things made me smile this week. Nicer weather, I finally bought a separate domain name for my photo/West Cork blog, I attended a whisky launch event and got my yearly ginger biscuits baked. And more. I’m sorry you’re so busy at work. :( But happy to hear you get some time off.
Also, with my new domain name, I put my music blog on its own domain too. But I also do bummers when I do things like these – I knew you were (and someone else) following the RSS and planned to write a post with the new link, but I forgot about it. Apologies! You’ll get the new link if you click my name connected to this comment.

Och! That’s a carp load of emails! Well, small worries and mercies, you’ll get through it – and you did have a lovely mini-break on the Cape …. (so I read and smiled about it in your post) … so okay, stop, STOP …. stop …. and just breathe. You are but one person. You can only do what you can do. You will crunch it all and it will all get sorted and done. One step at a time. Don’t stress or fret. And now, presumably, you’re home – after work – so I hope you have a most relazing (relaxing + lazing combo) evening and a smooth sailing kind of week. Cheers!

You should see the piles of email I receive when I’m out for a week during prime-time and not over a Holiday. On second thought, no you shouldn’t! lol It wasn’t that bad, but I do usually try to get my smile post in by 8 and it was closing in on 1, so a great intro ;) Thanks, much more relaxed now.
