If We Were Having Coffee on the 11th of December, 2021 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I will get you a very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or a cup of cocoa. It is wet and cold out there, so a hot beverage is a must. To expand on that, it is raining right now, though it is supposed to warm up today. That is fine. It will most likely melt the last of the snow. Were are we? Some of you may recognize that photo at the top as coming from New Hampshire.

I missed last week’s coffee share because I was traveling. I was in southern New Jersey, Stone Harbor to be exact, visiting my brother, who has a condo down there. My sister drove in from Ohio, so we had a little “reunion”. (My brother actually lives in the Philadelphia area and my sister drove to his house, letting him drive to the beach.) We spend a lot of time on the beach, exploring Cape May, watching movies, eating and just family things in general (i.e., this was a sibling “meeting”.) It was a nice get-together/getaway and made the 6 to 7 hour drive each direction worth it.

This week was about returning to normal after a few odd weeks and weekends. I had work, which was fine. It was a cold week and there was some snow. Because of that, I did not run :( I did exercise, walk dogs, read, play music and such.

Not a whole lot to say about this week. I think I spent most of my non-work time doing music. For some reason I had a Sparks song as an earworm so I decided to learn and record it. I really like my arrangement, but my vocals are terrible. That is the problem, though – the vocal part is where the earworm was coming from. Oh well, I am not going to rerecord the vocal part any time soon, so it will have to stay as is for now .

And that is about it. Thanks for stopping by. If you have a coffee post, I will try to stop by.

Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

That’s so wonderful your siblings and you all met for a get together. There’s 6 in my family and in 5 States so getting together is nearly impossible and no one wants to plan a meet up. Oh well, we do stay in touch texting and via social media. I am hoping to visit them all individually in the next coming year! I’m so late to this coffee share, enjoyed your share and I’m planning on joining in next weekend! ❤️ ☕

Thanks! It was great to have a visit. My family tries to get together once a year at my parent’s house, but this was just the three of us, which was nice. It was worth the 13 hours round trip for my and perhaps 17 for my sister. I know planning get togethers can be difficult for larger, spread out families. Hope to “see” you this weekend!

Thank you Trent for your coffee share. There is one more link-up next week on Dec. 17 before a short break. I hope to see you again then. If not, happy holidays to you and your family! Weekend Coffee Share will return on January 7th.

I need a dark roast! It seems like some of the storm has come back here. :(
That sounds great that you’ve played so much music this week! I haven’t – but will come back to it now because I’ve promised to play something at our last Italian class for the semester, and I’ve also promised to learn “Brown-eyed girl” for the online music session the 23rd. Could be interesting!

I do not spend enough time trying to figure out and learning songs, it is something I need to work on more. Hope you find time to learn those songs, own Eyed Girl should be a fun one.

How funny that you would mention a sibling reunion, when I woke up this morning my first thought was about if I should arrange a reunion with all my siblings (6 if you count all family constellations.)
Are you getting into the Christmas spirit? Feeling the upcoming holiday season?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :) Thanks for the coffee!

I hope you are able to get your siblings together :) I just set up a tree, but am not really into it yet. Maybe by the end of the week I will be. I hope you are having a good weekend and have a wonderful week ahead :)

I’m glad you had that little reunion with your siblings. Those are important to spend time and mile on. It has been a long time since I had one of those. If I don’t organize (and pay for it) it doesn’t happen and I’m not able to do that right now. Oh well, maybe one of the three sisters will take it on. That lighthouse picture looks like you had great weather! That’s a plus!

Thanks, Corina. It is important to have family time. My brother was the one that organized this, which was great. We may make this a yearly thing. I’m sorry you get stuck with it all of the time with your siblings. I hope one of them can help out and pick it up for you.
Hope your weekend is going well.

Great to hear about your reunion. Meeting siblings or good friends is always worth a longer drive. Have a beautiful weekend, Trent! Here we are in something like winter time, and another lockdown, preventing the spread of the very new virus variant Omikron. I hope you are far aways from such things. xx Michael

Thanks, it was nice to visit with family. There have been some changes due to the threat of the Omicron variant, but no threat of a lockdown. Hope you are having a great weekend!
