Hello and Welcome! Come on in (close the door quickly!) and I’ll get you a nice large mug of steaming dark roast, a piping cuppa tea or a (very) hot cocoa. By my adjectives you may understand that it is a wee bit chilly out there. I think it was -8 F/ -22 C when I got up this morning. But don’t worry, it has warmed up significantly! Yep it is now a balmy -1F/ -18 C! OK, it is early and it might hit 22 F/-5.5 C later in the day. So, yeah, come on in and warm up a little. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.
I drove back to New Hampshire Saturday evening, cutting my trip to Cape Cod a little shorter than usual. I had a few things to do Sunday, so…. We had snow on Sunday night into Monday, but it rained all Monday morning. Yuck. Several inches of slush. It was wet and nasty to clean up, and then it all froze. So, yeah, it’s pretty icy out there.
My wife took the dogs up to Maine for the week, but I still did a few walks a day on my own. That being said, I didn’t get as much exercise as I would have liked. I had an appointment Tuesday morning. Work was super busy. The cats needed a lot of cuddle and play time.
Hmm, that was the week in a few very short sentences ;)
Besides all of the above, I did play a lot of music and did some recording. I did a down and dirty blues tune, The Great Blue’s Blues, on Monday and then I wrote and recorded another song, sort of a prog-pop instrumental, on Thursday. I did posts about them, but will share the video at the bottom of the page – they are related in a strange way…
And that is mostly it. Yes, work was insane (not really a bad way), but the week was pretty relaxing.
There are a few things I need to do this morning, most of them inside ;) Thanks for visiting! If you have a coffee share, I will try to stop in and say “Hi!”
Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

Yeah, very cold, though I think today will reach freezing ;) The roads have been pretty clear since the storm, though there are a few places on my run I have to watch, it is when I am walking off of the road that it gets dangerous.
Thanks, I hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week :)

Wow, that’s cold, Trent. I like your music videos. Is it you singing in the blue heron one?

We do get this type of cold at least once most years, but this winter has just seemed so cold!
Thanks re: the music! Yes, that is me singing. I was obviously trying for a “blues voice”, but would get vocal nodules if I sang that way for too long ;) For the most part I hate my singing voice, but it is fun to do.

I thought your singing voice was very good.

Thanks, Robbie. Last week I posted some vocals that were very different than this and late last year another one. Still experimenting and may end up taking voice lessons if I keep singing on my recordings!

My older son had voice lessons and it certainly made a good difference.

I’m sure it can make a big difference. It also helps the singer from damaging their voice. If do more singing, I most likely will break down and take lessons.

Greg achieved Grade 5 theory and practical piano and needed the voice lessons for the exams as you sing some parts. I was heart broken when he gave music up but I couldn’t live my own musical dreams through him.

He does have a good background, so if he ever decides to pick it up later in life he has a head start.

Sorry, Trent, I’m not coming to your house for coffee this week. It’s just TOOOOOOOOO DARN COLD. I’ll stay home and drink mine this time. :)

lol, I’m sure most sane people will stay away… It is too cold even for me, though I did make it out running today.

Hi, Gary. I noticed your comment as I was reading Trent’s post. So sorry you had to deal with covid, but I’m certainly glad to hear that your recover sounds like a very positive end to the ordeal.

Hi Trent, You remind me that this time of year, Calif does have some value as it’s much easier to get out and exercise. I continue to add “steps” each day as part of my post-encounter with covid and am very pleased with the return of my stamina to a point that is better now than I had when I caught that stinking bug. I’m counting this a some-thing of a back-handed favor..

I’m glad you are bouncing back. Also cool that you are pushing beyond where you were – keep going! As to exercise, yeah, I did run in the cold today. Not bad, but there were some icy areas and, well, I think California would have been easier! I hope your weekend is going well and that you have a great week ahead.
