Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. It is cool (45 F/7 C) and wet out there. It is foggy and, when I was down at one of the landings, I could see raindrops hitting the water as if raining hard, though I didn’t feel it. Anyway, with the cool wet, it feels pretty miserable, so you’ll need that hot beverage. Oh, where are we? If the photo at the top and my description of the day didn’t give it away, we are on Cape Cod.
I drove down with Alexander on Tuesday evening. Alexander is right now in my lap, were he has been most of the week. He has slept beside me each night as well. I am not sure if he is a little out of sorts and so needs his Daddy or he is taking advantage of being only mammal when he usually has to compete with Fiyero, Idina (dogs), Grace Kelly, Tiberius (cats) and Figaro (bird (ok, not a mammal, but…)).
I usually also take Tiberius when I go down by myself, but he had surgery yesterday. He is sick again (at least the third time in his 9 months of life) and the vets said it is caused by a polyp. Unfortunately, the vet was not able to completely remove the polyp and so he will need to see a specialist. Poor little guy! I’m sorry I wasn’t there with him, but in some ways it was easier to restrict diet and such with Alexander out of the house.
I came down (leaving the kitten behind!!!) for a few reasons. First, it has been a month! I like to be down at least twice a month, and also usually spend an entire week in February. This year it has been once a month and no more than 5 days at a time. I also had a delivery scheduled for today. We have been waiting over six months, so I did not want to say “No”! They were here before 8, so that is now complete.
The weather was very warm up in New Hampshire this week (over 70 F/21 C), so in ways I was sorry to miss it – it was much cooler here, and often wet or foggy. I was able to get out for a very long walk in the woods yesterday after work and did a good run that took me on the beach access on Wednesday. I was pretty active this week, but also did a lot more reading than usual.
Oh, quick comment – last week I mentioned an MRI. News back is nothing to worry about (told to me over the phone by a nurse, to give you an idea of how little worry…). I may talk about the experience more later.
Well, despite the damp air I plan on being outside all day. Anyway, I need to get up soon (Alexander will be a little upset, but…). Thanks for stopping in for a coffee and a chat! If you have a coffee share I will try to visit.
Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!
Glad the MRI results were not serious
And the kitten has been thru so much !

That’s very good to hear about your MRI! And I didn’t realise you have so many pets around you! I thought you only had Tiberius. Sorry to hear about his polyp. I had no idea cats could get such things. I hope you get some good times and good weather this week.

Yes, our house is filled with pets. I always joke with my wife that if I pass away before she does, she’ll become a “cat lady”. I occasionally mention dog walks and dog play in the coffee shares, but you might have missed the weeks I have. Have a wonderful week :)

It’s wonderful news that you don’t have to worry about the MRI. Perhaps a little cool, grey weather is ok to deal with in the big picture? Even though I have to admit that a day or two in the 70’s would be OK for me :) Have a wonderful new week. Thank you for the coffee!

In many ways Spring is the worst season on Cape Cod – I was back in NH for 60 F weather yesterday and spent all day outside :) Yes, wonderful news about the MRI. Have a great week!

Another nice chat, so glad you and Alexander are having a quiet time together, hope is not off colour… Sometimes animals are quiet for no real reason. Excellent news that your MRI was okay … always good to hear that.
Thank you for your coffee and company.💜

Thanks, Willow. It was nice having a getaway with just Alexander. He is the quietest one of the bunch, but he was all over my the entire time.
Hope you are having a good weekend! Thanks for stopping in for coffee.

Hiya Trent! So glad to hear you’re doing OK (overall) and were able to enjoy some time away, even if the weather was damp and dreary. I hope the week ahead is a wonderful one for you and all of your critters :-)

Tiberius is such a great little kitten :) He is doing a round of antibiotics now and still needs another procedure, but he is feisty and is causing mischief… I hope you are having a great weekend!

Thanks, Shannon! Tiberius is feisty and is bouncing back, but still has at least one more round before it is over. Hope your weekend is going well :)

Good day for a hot cuppa. Got coffee here and it’s rather raw outside, especially compared to the lovely weather we had yesterday. But tomorrow is supposed to be even better. This is the time of year where you get dribs and drabs of hope, but you can’t count on anything.
At least the birds are happy. We now, after doing a bit of work on the deck, five feeders up. Two doves seem to be nesting in one of the flat feeders. I’ll know for sure if one of them lays eggs. They are not the brightest birds in the woods, but they are peaceful and non-aggressive. And we have a LOT of them!

The last of the rain is just passing over us here. I’ll be in NH tomorrow, and the forecast for tomorrow does look better than it was looking earlier – up to 62, which is 10 degrees warmer than yesterday was on the Cape…
I have been enjoying the return of the birds. Funny that the doves would nest in a feeder, but, then. I guess they know they’ll be close to a food source!
I saw two osprey yesterday, so they are returning, but didn’t see any of the nests occupied yet.

The poor little guy… The good and bad is that once the entire polyp is removed he will be 100% cured, but 100% needs to be removed or it will just continue to get worse.
Have a great weekend.

Tiberius certainly has had more than his fair share of issues. Poor little guy. He’ll need some cuddle therapy on your return.

Poor Tiberius has had a rough go at it, but he is a real trooper. He is also a huge cuddler, so I am sure I will be giving and receiving much love from that little kitten…

Sorry to hear that Tiberius hasn’t been feeling well. I imagine it would be easier to restrict diet with one fur baby separated from the mix.
Enjoy your outside time. Thanks for the virtual coffee.

For the most part Tiberius acted OK, but I was beginning to suspect something and then I saw Fiyero hold Tiberius down and lick his ear, and it was “oh, oh, Fiyero knows something…”. The cats do have feeding times, but the mostly graze, so food is always out. It was easier with just Tiberius.
Thanks for stopping in :)

Damp here too today, fog and rain. I took myself and the camera out to a park to photograph in the fog. Didn’t spend a lot of time outside as it began to rain in earnest but it was nice to be out there. Glad your MRI was nothing to worry about.

It’s been pouring for the last two hours or so, but I did get out some before then. No camera though – I left my good camera in New Hampshire.
Thanks. Hope your weekend is goign well.
