Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or a hot cocoa. It is a little cool out there today, but not bad. We’ve had a cooler than usual spring, but the last week wasn’t too bad – we had a few warmer days mixed in with the cool. The weekend will be cool again, but next week we will get down right hot, with a couple of days over 87 F (31 C). Were are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.
I drove back from Cape Cod on Saturday evening. I did have a good, if low key, day down there after my coffee post, but needed to head north.
There wasn’t much happening during the week. I did run twice, and each time it was warm enough for just shorts and t-shirt (I think in the 70s/20s C both days). I did my other exercise routine three times and had massage. I walked every day, both with the dogs and without. I spent more time than usual chatting with neighbors (good weather?). I played with cats and kittens (Tiberius is doing great after his surgery).
Work was tough and I returned to over 400 emails on Monday. OK, enough about work, it is the weekend…
I practiced music, but really didn’t do a whole lot. I wrote a little but have been avoiding “real work” in my writing. I read some.
I’ll admit that I went down a couple of Internet wormholes (or are they rabbit holes? I guess it depends on if the journey is sci-fi or whimsical fantasy). Anyway, as an example, I would remember an old movie. I do a search and find the name, say Sunset Blvd. Then I would get sucked into reading about it and watching clips on YouTube. I would finally emerge and wonder why the clock said 9:30 PM when I knew it was 7! The dangers of sitting too close to the computer!
As usual I have a busy weekend planned and need to get to it.
Thanks for stopping by! If you have a coffee share I will try to visit, but, as usual, no promises (I typically hit at least 90% of people who link, though can’t leave a “like” if it is non-WP and I don’t comment as much as I should).
Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!
The rabbit holes on the www sound a lot more fun than emails
– and 400 – whew!

Yes, much more fun!! lol, yeah, that was far, far too many, though most of the meails were more “records” than anything I really had to read or respond to.

That is good that most emails were not requiring log replies etc

I have had more difficult returns from being away for a few days, but my shock at seeing all of those emails… 😮

No worries Trent!
Blogging is not a job for me. It is enjoyment. I do what I can, when I can.
Many people I blog with are the same.
The people I follow who are dedicated regular bloggers, know I am not. So it all works out.
I’m always happy when you come around, comment or not!

I do blog a lot, at time way too much! but I am with you that it is just for enjoyment and I don’t expect anything from anyone, I’m just happy when I see people show up :)

Oh how I easily slip into those wormy rabbit holes. My problem is trying to remember what I was looking for in the first place.

Yeah, that happens too often. Wow, I just made the wildest discovery, but what was I looking up? I know it was important…

87, huh. Oh, you sweet (mild) summer child :-) It was 101 here yesterday. Down to 94 today–positively comfy by Tucson standards.
You have my sympathy on the emails. I’ve been away from work for 4 days. My inbox is a frightmare.
Have a great week!

Yep, give 10 below zero before 90 above – I live in New Hampshire for a reason ;)
Good luck with the emails when you get back to work!

I know I comment on your weather updates a lot, but I am jealous in the best possible way. It is miserable weather here. Raining for days, which by itself isn’t to bad. but there is wind and there was a chance of snow mixed in the rain today. I don’t know if it happened because I refused to look! Anyway, thanks for the virtual coffee Trent.

It has been an odd spring everywhere! I’ve seen snow in May, but, still… yuck! Hope your weekend is going well :) Have a wonderful week.

Are you prepared for the hot weather! 87 is no joke, and you have some humidity on top of that, right? Our weather is going to be low 60’s this coming week. The rain we are expecting is well needed though. Enjoy your weekend!

I am not prepared for 87F! They keep changing the forecast, so today it looks like 3 days in the 80s with the high point being 87 before getting cooler (yesterday afternoon they had 89!). 60s is fine this time of year and I’d enjoy that. Hope your weekend is going well :)

I don’t remember much about this past week other than I got to be involved in an interview of a Congressman about a safety related bill he introduced. Today Katie’s half sister came over and we took her and her folks to Katie’s park. We have beautiful weather today!! Glad you had a good if busy week.

I know you’ve talked to a lot of politicians about road and trucker safety issues, but I’m sure being involved in an interview with a congressman has to be at least somewhat memorable and after that, doesn’t matter what happened!
Glad Katie got to play with her half sister. I talked to my folks in northern Ohio today and it sounded sunny but super windy! Of course, that could be from Lake Erie.
Hope you are having a good weekend :)

The Congressman happened to be one district over from me, so we had Michigan in common, plus he’s a really nice guy. This was the first time I’ve talked to him but I can see us working together going forward.

I think the internet can provide wormholes (interrupting the time/space continuum) and rabbitholes (are we taller or shorter when we emerge?). 400 emails. Yikes!

I think you are right that if I somehow lost three hours it was most likely a wormhole. It’s when we have no idea where we are or how we got there, that it is the rabbit hole…
Yeah, serves me right for taking three days off of work! lol, More than usual because there are so many projects going on at once.
Hope your weekend is going well!
