Thanks, Sonya. Cats are pretty easy. I am shooting with an Olympus E-M1 mark ii and the new lens is an Olympus 100-400 5.0-6.3 (it came out 2or 3 years ago). The lens sounds pretty dark compared to some high end lenses, but it is nice and weighs more than 3 times as much as the 75-300 4.8-6.7 it replaces. Most of these photos are between 100 and 200 mm and I think I was shooting 1600 iso and were very clean for the smaller Oly sensor.
Hi Teresa! I guess you figured out a way to comment by answering someone else’s comment. I may have to sit down and figure out an easy way for non-bloggers to do it.
Thanks! Yep, a straight ahead dog person, however, if I remember correctly, you have had cats, or at least one – I think you had Witch when I first met you…
Nobody asked you what lens? That was my first question! LOL Of COURSE the cats are beautiful, I noticed that too. I was trying to figure out which one was which…let me see if I got it right: Are they in the order that you described their ages above? Tiberius, then Alexander, then Grace Kelly? Left to right?
If you click on the photos at the bottom, not only does it make them bigger, it should bring up a title/comment with the name. You can also click the “i” button to get some exif info, which tells you the camera, aperture and focal length, but not the actual lens. lol, but I will make it easy on you – the little black with white cat/kitten is Tiberius, the thin, striped young cat is Alexander and the big tabby is Grace Kelly (they are all royalty in some way). I use an Olympus E-M1markII. I just picked up a new super-telephoto zoom – an Olympus 100-400mm (these photos are all in the 100 – 200 mm range). It is not super bright (f6.3 at 400mm), but is great lens. It is water proof, which is great since the body is and I use it in the kayak all of the time… I may do a review of the new lens here in the next week or so.
Excellent! Especially the waterproof part. I think my Nikon is water resistant, but that’s not the same as waterproof! Your cats are beautiful!!! I’ll go click on their images.
The Olympus weather sealing is pretty highly rated, but I might have over stated with “waterproof” – it is recommended that I rinse in clean water after being out on the saltwater, but I wouldn’t drop it in a bucket of water! I have had it go in the water with no issues, but… yeah, have to be careful!
Thanks, Diana. They are all different. You can’t tell in this photo, but Alexander is very unusual color – a dusty gold with only a hint of orange. And, of course, all unique personalities, which goes a long way into those expressions :)
Thanks, Marina, they were great models! Tiberius is one of the cutest kittens every – a few days ago our vet told us that it is good he is an indoor kitty or he would be cat-napped in minute.
Tiberius is about 10, maybe 11 months, so still a kitten. Alexander a little under two years, and Grace Kelly is an old lady. I’m not sure of her age, but at least 12. It was great to have such cute models :)

Great faces on all of them.
My Espresso turns as soon as I bring the out.
Cappuccino is a ham. I think he poses.
Thanks for sharing …

They’re rescue Siamese so they have a lot of brown shades. They remind me of coffee. 😀

Love your cats. Nice pictures I find most cats just let you take their pictures. What lens did you use?
