Hello and Welcome! Lets sit here at this table looking back into the woods. It is nice and shady here with a pleasant breeze. Ah. It is warm, isn’t it? OK, it is only about 80 F/27 C, but it is very humid. It will get around 90F/32C later in the day, as it did yesterday, and will most likely feel a bit steamy. I hope the breeze keeps up! Where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.
It was a pretty warm week and it is ending hot (for spring in New Hampshire). I did a bit outside, including running a few times, including earlier this morning. I did my normal weight exercises and such. I walked the dogs a lot and did a few walks without them (they aren’t big on walking when it gets warm). I played with cats and such,as always.
I picked up a new lens for my camera and spent a little time playing with it. I hope to get out a lot over the weekend and do a lot more! Of course, the real test will be when I kayak with it on Cape Cod, but that will have to wait. Here is a Moon shot.

Yeah, doesn’t look like much. Maybe click on it? Or here is a crop (you can click on this as well for a better view ;) ).

Better?
Anyway, I posted some cat photos taken with the new lens on Thursday, including this one.

Anyway, I will be out and about today playing with this new lens.
And with that, I will be on my way. Thanks for stooping in! If you have a coffee share I will try to visit, but no promises.
Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

I’m so happy it’s warmed up for you, but mother nature needs to turn the switch down a little bit, haha. I hope it gets cooler there soon. Your moon photos are AMAZING! And Alexander is so handsome as I love his unusual colors of both grey and orange tabby, at least that’s what he looks like from the photos. So pretty! His eyes and face so cute and inquisitive! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead, I can’t believe May is half over! 🤩

I call Alexander’s colors a dusty gold – someplace between a very light orange and a grey or beige. It is unusually, but he is very handsome :) Thanks, re: Moon photos. When I get a new camera or telephoto lens, the first thing I always do is point it at the Moon. I was not disappointed with this one ;) It will be in the 70s most of the week, so closer to normal, but I think it is going to hit 90 again next weekend!
Hope you had a great weekend! Have a wonderful week.

The new lens will be so much fun! It’s 58 here now, with fog. Katie hates the heat too.

The low last night was 66, but luckily it won’t be quite as hot today.
The new lens will be (has been) a lot of fun. I can’t wait to get a chance for the osprey and such on Cape Cod.

That is HOT! Congratulations on your new lens, how fun! I actually don’t have a professional camera anymore, I take all my photos with my Iphone. Mostly it works our satisfying, but of course it is not the same DOF as with a real camera. I am excited for you and your new lens! Have fun!

Yesterday was very hot! Actually, the breeze didn’t feel too bad, but it is amazing how hot the house got after being frigid just a few days ago…
The new lens has been a lot of fun. The water sealing on it is excellent, so it will be used on my kayak all of the time.
You have a great photographic eye. Do you think you’ll ever get back into more serious photography again? Not that you can’t do some serious work on an Iphone, but there are limitations.
Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week ahead!

Thanks. As a friend said when looking at these photos, it is impossible to take a bad cat picture ;)

Thanks! It is a very good lens, but not part of their “Professional” series. Although I’ve been playing with it a lot over the last few days, I think it will be after my next visit to Cape Cod that a lot of good photos will start showing up…

A new camera lens is fun. I like the moon picture. I have never had much success with night photographs. Have a great weekend Trent. Thanks for the virtual coffee.

This new lens has been a lot of fun. i can’t wait to get some real use from it.
I think I have used a “Moon shot” for every new camera and every new telephoto lens I have ever bought. It is like my standard “Let’s see what this can do.” A couple of years ago I tried takign photos of Jupiter, Saturn and Mars and was surprised at how good they came out. This was about the same time period as when Olympus announced this lens, which is when I started saving for it, even if the stated reason I picked it up is to have a more water resistant lens when I kayak – at least 70% of my telephoto use is from the kayak.
Thanks for stopping in. Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week ahead :)

Great moon photos. Is the new lens to take photos of the lunar eclipse on Sunday?

Thanks. We will be having thunderstorms tonight, so no lunar eclipse photos. The new lens is because I need something a little more water resistant than my current telephoto when I am in the kayak, and 90% of my long-lens use is from the kayak. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Hi Trent.
Well ick regarding your weather. Hot & humid is my least favorite non-lethal weather pattern and leaves wanting nothing more than to plant myself in front of a well draining AC unit that both cools & dries the air for me.
I well recall playing with my lenses for my traditional film SRL camera but one day got tired of carrying the whole thing around and stopped using it.
Now each temptation to get a digital camera is beat back because my phone camera does most if what I would want while being unbeatably conveniently in my pocket. . .
So I continue to use words to be creative with just a few of my own photos.
Have a great weekend 😀

I am much more of a cold weather person than a hot weather person, and the humidity just makes it that much worse. I’ve never been a huge fan of AC unless I absolutely need it. I do run it in my home office, and Cape Cod is so humid it is needed fro July and August, but it is far too early to get it out now! Closing off the house now would be awful – I’m just beginning to open it after the winter! So I will suffer these few days waiting for the cooler weather…
Phones can do a lot these days, but there are limitations. And I do love trying to push into new territory. There are far worse creative outlets than words.
Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a great week ahead :)
