Hello and Welcome! Come on over and I’ll get a you large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage. The weather is as close to perfect as you could ask for: coolish (69 F/21 C) but the mid-June sun is hot. There is a nice breeze. It feels great! And where are we hanging out for our coffee? Some of you may recognize my back yard on Cape Cod.
I got up this morning (Saturday) at 6, fed the cats, ran 5 miles (8 KM) with a big chunk of the run on beach access with great views of the water. Home and a shower followed by breakfast. Then a very long walk in the woods with my camera (didn’t see anything, but you never know). Now a short stop inside to blog, and I’ll be back outside again. It’s a little windy for kayaking, but there are a million things to do, so… Yes, I love being down here :)
So I drove to the Cape on Wednesday evening. I did have to work Thursday and Friday, but that is the good thing about telework. I spent the last couple of afternoons mowing and other yard work, as well as some inside work. And, of course, walking to the nearby landings and watching the water and osprey fish (I did see a couple of them catch fish!) I have the cats with me.
What else this week? I did have massage on Wednesday. Oh, our Lions Club had a dinner at a local restaurant. That was nice. Walks, both with and without dogs, running, exercise and other such. Work, but the less said, the better.
I didn’t blog much. After last week’s Bleak House marathon… I have missed three or four Friday Fictioneers in a row, I know Colleen still does a poetry challenge on Tuesdays, but I can’t find it, and I haven’t had time for writephoto in a few weeks, so no normal blog posts.
And that is about it. As I said, I am going to go out and enjoy the gorgeous day after I write this.
Thanks for stopping by! If you have a coffee share, I will try to visit, but no promises (I hope to be out side dawn to dusk all weekend! And these are the longest days of the year…)
Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!
Lovely weather for your outdoor activities. I’ve loved your Bleak House posts!

It was perfect weather to be out and about, which is great given how hot much of the country has been. And thanks, Rosemary, glad you enjoyed the Bleak House posts!

Thanks. Of the more rock/pop ones, I like my homage to 70’s electronic music, Lost Star, the best…

69F w/a breeze is perfect for a dark black coffee outside. When it gets to 75F, I’ll have that iced.
78F w/ no breeze, I’m indoors! Okay, been looking for your Youtube page…House of the Rising Sun!

I agree, I am not a hot weather person! My brain pretty much shuts down when it is above 80. But a nice 69? It was great :)
I see you found the video :)

I did!
I don’t know when it will be posted, but Holly and I are working on a post (A Tangle of Music)
I’ll probably link to the page on your blog with all your music and videos. It seems quite complete.
Anyway…I’m still drawing, and now my newest Art Gown is almost finished! 🙂

“…and now my newest Art Gown is almost finished!” You are talking the real one, not a drawing, right? Cant’ wait to see it! And looking forward to the post :)

What nice weather to be out on the Cape! We’re having nice stuff too, now that it’s cooled off. I’ll send you more sunshine and breezes.

With so much of the country being so hot, it was nice to have cooler weather! In NH we had I think 8 or 9 days days of 90+ weather in May, including a day at 98, so I am doubly glad we missed it! Much of my family is in Ohio on the shore of Lake Erie and I think they had the heat this week – I’ll hear more about it tomorrow.
I hope you are havign a good weekend :)

I am. Weeding the garden which got overrun while I was taking care of Katie. It’s cooler now so that’s not horrible…well…weeding in general is horrible, but it could be worse.

HI Trent, you are certainly a very busy man. Running on the beach sounds marvelous.

I do like to try to stay busy, or at least active. The run was actually on the beach access road, which has the beach and ocean on one side and a saltwater marsh on the other – it is still a great place to run! And I did go back to that same beach later and did a long walk on the sand. I hope you are havign a great weekend :)

The start of your Saturday sounds amazing. I can almost smell the salty ocean water. May the rest of your weekend be as beautiful as those views. Thank you for the coffee!

Hi Trent, from what I’ve seen, your Bleak House marathon went really well. I think that’s a great reason to relax a tad from other blogging ventures.

Hi Gary, yes, I’m really happy with how the Bleak House challenge went. There was a lot of work invoked during a time I couldn’t afford it, but I am glad I did it.
Actually, a lot of my blogging slow down has as much with my real job than the challenge – I often do a lot of blogging during quick breaks from work, but the last month or so, if I took a break, I had to go for a walk, not sit at my personal computer! And at the end of the work days, nope, I needed to be as far from computers as possible, so little blogging after work (truthfully, most of the Bleak House challenge work was done in March and April, so mostly just time in discussion).
I hope you are havign a great weekend!

I had a laugh last night when I was sifting through the books on my 9 year old’s book shelf because he likes to sneak books from my shelf to add to his. Anyway, there amongst his age appropriate books was my copy of “Bleak House.”
Thanks for the virtual coffee Trent. Happy weekend.

Thanks, Ruth. Ah, yeah, I’ve been there a few times, but it is an email only “follow” and I can’t do that. Even though I turn off email notifications for all blogs I follow, I still get about 300 a day. They all go to an account I go to once a month to delete everything. If I don’t see a blog post in my Feed, it doesn’t exist.
