If We Were Having Coffee on the 25th of June, 2022 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on over and I will get you a nice large, super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage. It is pretty warm, so maybe a cool beverage… It is gorgeous out there, sunny, and warm. There is a slight breeze, but not as windy as it has been. Inland it will be a scorching day, but nice here. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as begin from Cape Cod (yes, for the second week in a row).

As you may have guessed, I spent the week down here. I only had three days off (I worked Thursday and Friday), but last weekend being super long was great! The dogs (and my wife ;) ) joined me and the cats Tuesday evening.

So I did a lot of work around the house, I took walks, with and without dogs, walks in the woods and beach, a little swimming on the beach, kayaking, etc. So nice. i also exercised and ran a few times, including this morning. Much of the run is on a beach access road, so the ocean beach is on one side and a saltwater bay on the other. It’s great.

Actually, I need to get out on my kayak – it is calling my name!! So I am goign to cut this very short and get out on the water asap.

Thanks for stopping in! If you have a coffee share, I will try to visit, but no promises – I plan on being outside all day!

Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

Kayaking is great – you feel so close to the water and connected with everything around it. It is also soemthign that almost anyone can do, but being in good shape can add extra spice. I would suggest trying it some time, but perhaps on a far away lake, not the River Thames…

😂 I’m a good swimmer but goodness if I capsized in the Thames 😱. I would actually love to try, I think they have canoes on a lake near where I grew up not sure if they rent them or its just an owners club.

At least the Thames isn’t quite the sewer it was 150 years ago… I like canoes, but there is a huge difference between canoeing and kayaking. There are a lot of kayak rental places around here – at times when I am paddling I think it is too popular ;)

It sounds like a marvellous week! I didn’t realise how much I’ve missed the beach until we arrived in Gothenburg and the archipelago called my name loud and clear. How was the kayaking? Kayaking is something I am planning on doing more of this summer. Have a fabulous new week!

I’m not a big beach person – I like walking on the beach, watching shore birds, etc., but not just laying out.
The kayaking was very nice. I saw a bit of wildlife, including an eagle, which I don’t see while kayaking very often. I hope you are able to get a lot of kayaking in this summer! You too, have a wonderful week!

Yes, kayaking is really great for the upper body – if you are going to go fast for long stints you need the abs and chest workign it. (I always go very fast, but stop to take photos…)
I didn’t get any cat photos this week and I won’t get a chance for a few days, but a month ago I posted some of the two “kittens” (Alexander is almost 2 and Tiberius about 1), but also some of the old lady, Grace Kelly, who doesn’t come to Cape Cod with us. If you are interested, they are here: https://trentsworld.blog/2022/05/12/cat-images/

For me it’s all about being on the water, so I’d be out in the kayak as much as possible. Super warm here, but I was up north on Lake Michigan so it was nice. Hope this next week is great too!

I do love being on the water and kayaking is great. I think we are getting some of that heat here now (96 F in NH), but Cape Cod is staying relatively cool. It is super humid, though!
Looking forward to seeing star photos from your stay up north.

It is a great route. I have a couple of routes in New Hampshire with wonderful mountain views that I like just as much, We have had more 90+ days already this year than in a typical summer, but I do really like being in the North East where days too hot to run outside are relatively rare. Now days I can’t run because of the snow (at least in NH), that’s a different matter ;)

I guess it would be great to have a place on Cape Cod! I’ve actually never been there. That’s one place on the Atlantic coast I’ve missed. Living in CA, OR and having family in WA, I’ve spent most of my coastal time on the Pacific.

Cape Cod is great, though it gets busy starting about now through the last week or so of August.
I have only been on the west coast once, many years ago, and only CA. I would really like to visit OR and WA, mostly WA…
I grew up on the “North Coast”, i.e., the Great Lakes ;)

You wouldn’t envy the two days I had to work last week! lol, I know, I love having the house here and feel lucky that I can enjoy it, even if I had to cut my usual June vacation short in a vain attempt to not get too far behind ;)

I live in a city that seems to get more crowded and much louder by the day. This used to be a farmers town way back in the old days lol, but more and more people are building here. Good news is I am an 30-60 minutes away from lakes, oceans, and the mountains…..so I guess I shouldn’t complain to much.
