If We Were Having Coffee on the 9th of July, 2022 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is a gorgeous day, about as perfect as you’d wish for. It is warm but not hot. A nice breeze. Perfect. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.

Thinking of photos, I did make it through all of those photos I was talking about last week. Here are posts where I put some of the photos:

Photos – Everything but the Osprey…
Photos – Osprey!
Photos – Lens Review

And a small sample.

Anyway, besides photos, I did my usual stuff. i worked. I walked and ran. I did weight exercises (no, I am a skinny little guy, I exercise for my health). I did a little work around the house. And I got my hair cut. It has been a a while! Here is before.

And here is after:

A big difference, no?

It was a beautiful week. It was perfect weather (most of the time – there was some rain) with warm days but cool nights. Playing with the windows I was able to keep the downstairs very cool. It is odd that in July the interior of the house is about 10 or 15 degrees cooler than it was in May!

Anyway, I have to go out and mow now. Thanks for stopping in for a chat! If you have a coffee share I will try to make a visit in the next couple of days.

Natalie the Explorer is now the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

I always talk about exercise in my coffee shares, and I was this gym rat with bulging muscles. Nope, not at all. As you said, the exercise is 100% for health, including injury prevention when I do things like kayak and as I age.
The entire east coast must have had a great week weather-wise.

Thanks, I love watching the ospreys and the osprey chicks are great.
Every week on my coffee share I talk about doing weight training or strength exercises as part of my weekly routine. With that much exercise, I don’t want people to think I am this huge hulk that everyone stares at when they go on the beach. Nope, I look a little malnourished ;) Back when I was in my early 30s I stopped cycling and running and gained 50 lbs. in a year. I still had skinny little arms and legs… Anyway, it took about 15 years, maybe more, to lose it. Yeah, I do not want to go back there.

Wow, that’s a lot of weight gain in a year! Sad isn’t it that it took 15 years to lose what it took 1 year to put on. I’m about 25-35 pounds more than I was in my 20s, and it doesn’t come off easily. In fact now that I’m feeling better, I’ve put on most of the 17 pounds I lost while I was so sick. I’m with you about the skinny arms, though. My legs – not so much. I have lady legs, lol. Well I’d better go work out! :) Have a great week.

It might have been one to two years, but it was very quick! And then a long time to lose it… Sorry that you were so sick to lose that much weight (not that losing weight is bad, but losing from being sick…). It does come back far too easy. Have a great week!

I’ve really enjoyed seeing your photos of Ospreys this week. I had a place by the Sacramento River (CA,) where I used to go and watch them for hours. I miss that. They are fascinating! Thank you for sharing “yours”. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sounds like a really nice, normal, sort of week! I need to go get a haircut too….maybe next week. Does it seem like the weeks are just flying by? I LOVE the osprey with her (his?) young! That’s a great shot!

I’ve always been active and in relatively good shape, but when I turned 50 I started a weight program so that when I hit Garry’s age I am a little more solid than I’d be if I didn’t… I’ve read many places how important it is to stay in good shape as you age. Glad Garry is keeping up with it, and it actually does make me feel better now.

I have to check out your photo links.
The bird … osprey I think – is gorgeous. The photo rocks.
You’re gorgeous, long or short hair.
I’m old fashioned, so prefer the long hair.

That was one great cup of coffee! Thank you, Trent!

Thanks, Resa (said with a slight blush). My inner rock star wanna-be likes the long hair as well… Yes, osprey chicks.
Thanks for stopping in for some coffee! Hope you enjoy the photos.

I very much got out of the habit of regular haircuts over the last few years of Covid! I made a promise to try to do better ;) Thanks, re: photos. If you do make it back, I hope you enjoy!

I think you’ve done that before where I read your post but didn’t see it in the linkup. I didn’t have time this weekend to go through my Reader, so i missed it. I’ll take a quick read now :)

Coffee was so good thanks, sounds like you had a great week! Lovely photos…. Tell me why do you let your hair grow so long before you go to the Barnard? I bet you don’t like having your hair cut you a rocker at heart!! 🤣🤣

I am a rocker at heart ;) Also, this time, I knew I was going to get a hair cut in July, so after it got past early-May and I hadn’t found time to go, I decided to wait it out. Thanks for joining me for coffee!
