If We Were Having Coffee on the 5th of November, 2022 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some other beverage. It is actually pretty nice out, so we’ll move it outside. This week has been unusually warm and today will get up to 75F/24C. To someone in Arizona that might not seem warm, but for November in New Hampshire,it is almost hot. After about three weeks of above average temps, next week it will drop to closer to normal, but still be sunny and nice. Oh, where are we? If you missed it a few sentences back, the photo at the top might have told you that we are in New Hampshire.

So it was a nice week if busy. I worked and work was busy, though not insane. ‘Nough said.

Last weekend was gorgeous and I spent most of the weekend outside. Very nice.

Monday was my birthday (yes, Halloween). I spent a big chunk of the day at a car dealership waiting for work to be completed on my car. I also had a dentist appointment in there. At least with waiting for the car I could do it outside and must have put in 100K steps (I don’t count steps, but if I did…). In the evening we went to a town where they get over 1000 trick-or-treaters to help dispense candy. I think we gave out over 1500 pieces of candy. I was volunteered into playing a Cajone (a percussion instrument that is a box that can make the sounds of a drum set – google it), and so sat in the front yard “jamming” all evening.

The only other appointment I had was massage on Wednesday, so I wasn’t quite as wall to wall busy as the last few weeks. But I still had a lot of “adulting” things I had to do this week, so…

I did get some running in and other exercise (dumbbell and body weight). I walked the dogs as much as possible – they wanted to be out all of the time because of the nice weather, but work was busy and… Anyway, I read a little and wrote a little more.

I wrote almost 20K words on my WIP last week. I am doing this much more as a planner than I have ever done before and wrote a post about it it here. Besides that, I did very little blogging this week.

Well, I need to get outside. Thanks for stopping in. If you have a coffee share I will try to visit. I usually hit most of them, but it might be at odd times since I want to be outside all weekend…

Natalie the Explorer is the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

Happy belated birthday! Seems like a Halloween birthday would be fun.

Your temps do seem warm for this time of year. It’s supposed to be 80 here in Tucson, so we aren’t much warmer than you. We’re coming out of a cold snap–I think the high yesterday was something like 70, and some areas got frost Friday night/Saturday morning.

    Congrats on the writing progress!

Thanks! I know there will always be a party on my birthday, I just hope that some year I’ll be invited ;) It is a cool birthday, but I rarely combine them.
I think it got up to almost 80 yesterday, but I can’t find anything to give me figures (every web site I visit shows yesterday as a blank…)
Hope you are have a great weekend!

Happy Belated Birthday, Trent. One of my son’s friends shares the same birthday. In their younger years, we went to a lot of Halloween-themed birthday parties. I love Halloween, so I enjoyed the excuse to parade around in costume.
Anyway, have a great Sunday. I hope you get some outside time in.

Thanks! Halloween birthdays can be fun, though I haven’t dressed up in years. I was able to stay outside most of the weekend.
I hope you had a good weekend and have a great week ahead :)

Thank you for the coffee! I hope you did get to enjoy your birthday a little bit in between the shop and the dentist appointment.
It sure is unusually warm for the season. We have weather around 50F every day, way to warm. At the moment it rains a lot, and it is suppose to rain all week next week. I’m ready for some white, beautiful snow now!
    Have a great new week!

It is odd weather all around. Being so warm in November (it reached 79 yesterday!) is just plain strange. We will have a little rain next week, but it has been dry here, which isn’t unusual – autumn is always the driest season in New England. I am not looking forward to snow so much, but can understand why you are.
Thanks for stopping in! I hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week, despite the rain.

Thank you for the coffee and crazy how this weather is these days. We are unusually cold (into the 40’s at night) but warming up to a beautiful day (60 – 70’s). We had a pretty good rain about a week ago and next week another big storm is coming through. We should see almost 3 days of rain which we need because of drought conditions. I think we are going to have a very wet year. I’ll be spending a little extra money on shavings for my horses, Haha! I think I wished you a happy birthday, I hope you had a great day and sounds like your week was pretty good too! 🤩🤠🎉

The weather is odd… I am glad you got rain! And I am sure few are complaining if you have a wet year – I’ve seen pictures of empty reservoirs and stuff. Scary.
I hope you are having a good weekend and have a wonderful week!

    Well happy belated birthday!

My smile for the week was our fall concert on Nov 1. We still dressed up in Halloween costumes (we were originally scheduled to play 3 days prior to Halloween, but had to move it to Tuesday the 1st due to a playoff football game.) It went as well as any first concert of the season does, maybe slightly better. Now it’s on to Christmas music!

That does sound fun. I have not played my trumpet in years, but I had always wanted to do a community orchestra/band type thing. Of course I had my little concert on Halloween, completely unrehearsed ;)

Happy birthday Trent! I’m glad you had a fun birthday on Halloween and several things done during the week. The weather has also been atypically warm here. Thank you for your coffee share. Have a great weekend!

With the Halloween birthday, I know there is always a party on my birthday! The problem is, I’m usually not invited ;)
I think you were in a very different part of the state, but did you ever visit Amherst village when in NH? It is quaint, looks like Normal Rockwell painted it, etc. People come from all over southern NH and northern MA on Halloween! The crowds were amazing.

I never made it to Mel’s Spooky World. i tried to hit Salem , MA a couple of times, but struck out, though one year we spent Halloween weekend in Marblehead, MA (a little peninsula off of Salem), which was fun.

    Hey Trent,
You had me smiling at the thought of you playing a Cajone for Halloween. My son has one and played it a lot when certain percussion sounds were desired by our music pastor at the time. I hadn’t heard of one before but he did some remarkable things with it. As you know, it looks like a wooden box but those few things inside make it much more versatile that I ever would have expected.
Jam on – I bet you had a great time of it.

It was a lot of fun, and I am seriously thinking of getting one for myself… I have seen them in the past a few times and once researched getting one to use when recording, but did nothing about it. But playing one for the first time, I’m hooked.
