Hi All! Today is a typical cold November day, perhaps even a little below average. It is funny since we have just come off of a few weeks of warmer than usual weather. This weekend was pretty nice (OK, it rained all day Sunday, but the rest of the weekend). It was a long weekend for me since we were celebrating Veterans (Remembrance Day in some other countries). Friday was a beautiful day. I spent the weekend on Cape Cod, so I am sure you know what is coming…
I walked to the nearest landing on Friday morning and was surprised at how smooth the water was. I went home, changed and was on that water within a half an hour, maybe closer to 15 minutes. OK, I wasn’t just floating by myself on the water, I was in a kayak. I did a relatively long paddle. The water was beautiful and I was the only one out. A perfect day.
Saturday afternoon I noticed that the water was smoother than I expected since I could feel a breeze. Yep, I was back on my kayak again Saturday afternoon. The water was a little rougher and on the way back I had spray coming over the front and so got wet, but it was warm and felt nice.
I really like being on the water. I paddle hard and keep moving at a very fast pace, and yet it is very relaxing. I saw very little nature (a great blue, a lot of ducks, etc.) but it is nice being out in it. And the water is so super clear when there is no boat traffic!
That is my smile for the week, being out on the kayak twice this early November weekend.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Note – I am no longer compiling the smiles into a weekly post as I used to – Sorry, I do not have time.

This is a drawing from 2014 of me on my kayak (new then) on a late autumn paddle ;)

Hmm, what made me smile? I know I did. What was it?
Was it the 3 pies I baked? 1 cherry, 1 peach and 1 combo peach/cherry. The first 2 were frozen. We ate the last one. That sure made me smile. I now have 11 fruit pies frozen for the winter. Another smile.
Charlotte Hoather’s gown is coming along. another smile.
Okay… I smiled!

Pies. Yum! Always worth a smile :) I can’t wait to see Charlotte’s dress – I am hoping you will share photos of the complete dress :) I’m also hoping she’ll pots photos of her wearing it. She’s shared many costumers she has worn, so I’m hoping this will make it to her, and perhaps your, blog.

Baking 3 strawberry pies tomorrow! Yes, when the gown is done, I will do a post on the Judy, as I always do. It will be on Art Gowns. Then I will send it to her. We both hope it works out so she can wear it for recitals. I’m 20 -25% in, now. I’ll get a lot done during the winter months. I’m hoping it will be finished in February. It will depend how many beads I end up sewing on it!

I celebrated my birthday again this weekend! I’ve been sick been rough trying go get rid of this cough. I also worked and watched Football. Overall it was a nice week ❤ Glad you had a nice week. I’m going home for Thanksgiving, I’m actually going kayaking 😉

I hope you are feeling better! Always worthy of a smile to stretch out the birthday celebration :) Glad it was a good week despite you being sick. I will be on Cape Cod for Thanksgiving, but I am afraid it might be too cold to get back out on the kayak again. We’ll see.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Your kayaking trip sounds wonderful. I didn’t do anything special over the long weekend, just rested most of the time, but I needed that.
