A Slight Inconvenience

PHOTO PROMPT © Starsinclayjars

“It’s a ski boot.”

“That’d be awfully cold if it’s a ski boot!”

“Water ski boot?”

“They don’t wear boots while water skiing, and people do that stupid tube thing instead of skiing these days any way.  No skill needed.”

The weird boot next to the sidewalk was an enigma.  What was it and why was it there?

After a while they just shrugged their shoulders and walked on, soon forgetting the boot.

Soon after they were out of sight the boot walked off on its own.

“I’ll be so glad when this broken foot heals,” grumbled the Invisible Man.

Thanks. I think the Invisible Man uses a mirror in much the same way a vampire does. On the other hand, vampires seem to value looking well groomed, and there is no reason for the invisible Man to be well groomed at all. I assume he has a very long beard…

Your story reminded me of my water skiing days, Trent. After a few hours of drinking, we’d transition to the tube and some crazier antics.
Fun story. Nothing like a boot walking around on its own. :-)

I think a few drinks and skiing is off, at least water skiing – I know a lot of people that think snow skiing is a drinking sport.
Thanks. I think I’d look into what I was last drinking if I saw a boot walking around on its own…
