Hi All! This was an odd week. A short one today as I don’t have a lot of time to write. In ways, that might seem a little ironic when all is said and done. Why? Glad you asked!
Back in October I came up with an idea for a book. I did a little research. I then did a lot more organization than usual. And then, the last week of October, I sat down and wrote the book. It just came out, the words flowing like water from a fire-hose, topping off with writing more than 30,000 words in a single week!
Anyway, a little over a week ago I wrote “The End”. But I wasn’t done. I had made few last minute decisions so I had to go back and make a lot of changes. And then there was general clean up. After going through a few times, I can now call the first draft complete!
I have written so much that started as a blog post or was posted as a serialized book, one chapter at a time on the blog, that was good to do it without worrying about the blog. Also, I have been in a writing slump for most of the last two years, so it was good to sit down and just write.
I always have a working title as I write, though it sometimes changes. The working title for this was “No Working Title” ;)
That is my smile for the week, finishing the first draft of a new book.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Note – I am no longer compiling the smiles into a weekly post as I used to – Sorry, I do not have time.
Smile… I got the zipper set into Charlotte’s skirt’s gown, the waistband and interfacing cut and I’m looking forward to resuming work on the bodice once the sewing of waistband is done!

Cool! Glad you are making progress on Charlotte’s gown.
She is such a driven go-getter, which is great! The project she just announced (wanted to say “new” but I know she’s been working on it for a while) sounds fantastic.

I know! I wanted to reblog the post, she said I could, but then there was no reblog button.
She said there used to be one, and she’s not sure when it disappeared.
So, I did a take on it with quotes. I don’t know if you saw it.
I closed comments because there’s an issue and she can’t comment on my blog.
If people left nice wishes for her, she wouldn’t be able to reply. So, I just sent everyone to her blog.
When she tries to comment on Art Gowns, she gets a red message that goes by so fast she can’t read it.
Have you heard of that?
Someone thinks it says you’re not logged in. However, she is logged in.

It is odd. These days I get a strange pop that flashes by every time I leave a comment anywhere, but I now somehow capture it and can click to allow pop ups and it signs me in for each and every one.
And, ironically, for a while I couldn’t comment at all on Charlotte’s blog. To get around it, I would see her post in the Reader, click comment, and do it from there.
Anyway, WP does odd things!
I did see your post and was a little surprised it wasn’t a straight up reblog, though you did do a good job. Now I know why.

This is interesting! I mean about the pops.
So odd. Charlotte couldn’t comment on either of my blogs, but the issue cleared up on GLAM, after about a year.
Anyway, we are dealing with WP Happiness Engineers. Hopefully that will prove fruitful.

It is odd. WP does work in mysterious ways… Hope someone can fix that issue.
And Charlotte has a new post for another Alice related project – she never stops!

Thanks! Actually, from front to back it was a little over three weeks, but I wrote over 30,000 words that one week, which is a lot when I work full time, exercise and have a social life ;)
I’ll be by in a few
