Hi all! Just a real quick on for this week. Yeah, busy work day…
This was a pretty good week. There wasn’t a whole lot that stood out. But one thing was a little different.
I put up my Christmas tree.
Yep, it is that time of year. We now have an artificial tree. We’ve had it at least 5 years, most likely closer to 10, but no more than 10. I have specific things I like, so I am the official tree setter-upper. Anyway, this may not have been the best job ever, but it is fine. We had most of the lights off and Christmas music playing. I have turned off the Christmas music since then – I’m not ready ;) but it was nice for setting up the tree.
So that is my smile for the week, setting up our Christmas tree.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Note – I am no longer compiling the smiles into a weekly post as I used to – Sorry, I do not have time.

I was in Germany in 2017 during this time. I was with my daughter and family. My grandson wanted a Christmas tree. An artificial one. We all set it up and decorated it. :)

Sounds nice. Decorating a tree is fun, even an artificial one. It is something bright during a dark time of the year (dark meaning very short days).

You inspire me to set up mine, Trent. I’m also the official tree setter of our hearth. But I had such lovely company all these years, my now 14 year-old who is in boarding.
So I guess I’ll have to give myself that extra nudge to put it up this week. And it’s always fun to have the X’mas music rolling in the background. :)
You already have seen my smile for this week, albeit here goes:

I hope you do get a chance to turn on some holiday music and set up your tree this week. If you do or not, I hope the rest of your week goes well :)

We bought the tree, but have not set it up yet – I mean decorated it. But my smile is towards hubby’s capture of my comfy wrap up in this blanket. Remember so well we bought it during a vacation (summer) when it was hot – I really liked the pattern. Hubs said “Äre we going to use it? For what?” But it turned out we have used it every year, when the kids, or one of us wanted to warm up.

Funny how useful some of those “Do we really need it?” items turn out to be.
I’m a terrible procrastinator, so if I have the tree, it has to be decorated now or it never will be ;)

To me the tree has no purpose of function, it’s just a pretty thing and an expression of celebration of the birth of Jesus:)

Have a great week, Trent! Thanks for the reminder on setting up the Christmas tree. I think i will do it on one day before the celebration starts. It’s my traditional beginning, before i will hug pillows. Lol xx Michael

Thanks, you have a good week too. This is pretty early for me, but typically two to three weeks before Christmas is normal.
