Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or hot cocoa. Just word – many years ago I used to offer a French Roast but in the last few it has been a Dark Roast. Just so you know, I mix two parts French Roast, two parts Sumatra and one part a Medium Roast, usually something from one of the Caribbean Islands, South America or Central America (Jamaica, Brazil, Costa Rica, etc.). Anyway, right now it is cool (not cold since it is above freezing) and a little grey and damp, though it won’t rain today. And where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
I drove down the “The Cape” Tuesday night. I did have to work all week and it was a very busy week. It poured rain all day Wednesday – a low spot on the road to one of the two landings still has ankle deep water across it! Yes, three days later! Thursday was better and I was able to do a few short walks during breaks and ran after work. I did my typical run that uses the access roads to the beach for a good portion of it. It was almost dark by the time I got home… I went to that same beach and took a long walk after work on Friday (yesterday). The sun was setting as I walked and again I got home when it was getting dark. Here is a photo from that walk:

This was a very low key week. I did exercise some, I walked as much as I could and I ran a couple of times. The dogs are in New Hampshire, so no dog walks after Tuesday. I worked. I played some music (played keyboards, not listened), wrote a little, read a bit, blogged, etc. Anyway, pretty low key.
Well, that is about it. I have a ton of stuff to do around the house today and I need to get out and walk and such, so…
Thanks for stopping by! If you have a coffee share post, I will try to visit. I usually do pretty good, but can’t promise.
Natalie the Explorer is the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!
Glad to read the article. Awesome sunset 🌇

Hi Trent! I can’t believe it’s December as this year has seemed to speed by. I love your sunset photo, so BEAUTIFUL! I’m so happy you had a nice week and hope you have a great week ahead! 🥰

I used to run when I was younger and weighed less and had no knee issues. Now my knees will never be able to take the beating of a running even if I didn’t have breathing issues and other problems to stop it. Walking is difficult enough for me although being in the facility and having to walk to the dining room 3 times a day for meals is more walking than I am used to. I also have to walk down to the mailbox 6 days a week so there is extra walking there and if I do activities I have to walk there to so walking has increased.

I know a lot of people who don’t run anymore. it is a shame – I enjoy it so much and it is healthy. Walking can be healthy as well. Increasing it now might not seem great, but I am sure there are benefits.
Have a good week

I enjoyed it too, but the knee injury put a stop to it long enough that I lost interest and now walking is almost impossible although I have to make myself do it since I have to walk to my meals and although it isn’t a super long walk I have to walk a good bit of the facility to get there.

Your low-key week sounds wonderful–and much deserved. That sunset photo is gorgeous, and I remain insanely jealous of your access to the beach. I hope the week ahead is even better, and you’re able to find lots of “you” time.

Thanks. It is nice being able to spend time on the coast. And, yeah, a nice relaxing week.
Hope you have a great week ahead!

Sounds like a quite relaxing week for you, perhaps we should try running along the beach sometime, we have plenty of nice beaches around us. My husband and I go for long walks every weekend, the original plan was to run but after my knee injury, we now go for walks instead. I’m back to running (carefully) now so when the weather gets warmer perhaps we’ll run together again.

I’ve only tried running -on- the beach a few times and I’d say, don’t do it until your knee is 100%! Well, if the sand is as hard as asphalt, maybe, otherwise… But running on the access road along it is great!
Hope your knee continues to get better so come spring you will be able to keep up with your husband again. On the other hand, long walks together sounds great as well.
Have a great week.
Oh, very different subject… A few weeks ago I talked about a Scottish Whisky tasting and said we didn’t have any whisky from Islay. Well, I just picked up a bottle of Ardbeg and, I guess a little peaty ;) lol. Yeah, pretty good.

That’s good advice about running on beaches! Does it have to do with unstable areas? I’ll stay on our roads close to home so far, and will run as soon as the temperature is 5C or more. Very nice with an Ardbeg! They have a very good core range!

With sand, unless it is flat and super hard, it is a little harder to run, but also easy for a foot, ankle or leg to go a direction you didn’t intend.
I sometimes dress for cross-country skiing and run even below freezing, but, yeah, I like to keep above 40F/5C.

No dog walks! Must have been torture! 😁

At times it is very nice to have a dog free vacation, and I can still walk on my own 😉

Thanks, it was a relaxing week and fun to watch the sunset (if only it didn’t do it at 4 PM!! ;) ). You too, have a great week.

The weather here is not comfortable for walking. Sadly, it will be a few months before that becomes a thing again. I thought about getting those spikes for the bottom of my boots, but the temperature is too cold for me so I wait . . .
Thanks for the virtual coffee, Trent. Happy weekend.

I do have a lot of very cold weather winter clothes and don’t look forward to having to break it out. It is coming here soon enough (well, New Hampshire, not Cape Cod).
Happy weekend :)
