Hi All! I am just going to stop by for a few seconds to post this – busy day :)
In the last week the big thing of course was Christmas. Quiet year, but talked to friends family, etc. Music, tree, decorations, etc. Quiet introspection, and, oh, that is normal every day for an ultra Introvert, isn’t it? lol. baby, it was cold outside, but it was pretty, a winter wonderland.
A sad smile – I once (back in 2002? – I bought them as futures before they were even bottled) picked up six cases (12 bottles to a case) of 2000 vintage Bordeaux. I opened the very last bottle, a bottle of Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux, which was, of course, my favorite. Ah, after 22 years the last bottle is now gone.

So, Christmas and all that goes with it, including the last of the vintage wine, was my smile for the week.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Note – I am no longer compiling the smiles into a weekly post as I used to – Sorry, I do not have time.
What a lovely way to wrap a cosy Xmas. I marvel at how you kept the cases going for the last 20 years! Kudos.
Have yourself a blessed yule and a merry 2023.
We had a quiet yet cosy X’mas too. The barbecue on Xmas day was a hit.
And here’s what made me smile last week.

Towards the end of the wine I only opened bottles on holidays, and the last two years only Christmas. Now my wine fridge seems so empty! lol. I am not going to by wine in bulk again, but I need to restock.
Have a great new Year! I’ll be by to see your smile in a few :)

The Vineyard where I paint decided to have combined English-Hispanic Christmas service on Christmas day where we could wear our ugly Christmas sweater or PJ’s – that was fun:) and is my smile this week, as well as my surprise phone call of our son who lives in the Netherlands.

Hi Trent, I’m glad you had a good Christmas. I hosted my family on Christmas Eve so yesterday was a quiet one. We saw my in-laws today. All the best for 2023.

Hi Robbie, sounds like a good Christmas – to me quiet is good – and yet you were still bale to see both sides of the family.
have a great new year.

This morning all the wonderful posts I’m reading are making me smile. Yesterday was a fabulous day. I posted on Facebook that the digital readout on our oven was working inconsistently, and one of my Prescott friends from church called me and offered me a roaster so our turkey would be sure to get cooked. I thought that was so sweet. BTW, the oven worked fine, but we were a little unsure of the temp. Thank goodness for thermometers. We had a great time visiting with friends and family and way too much time eating! :) Eating always makes me smile.

Glad it all worked out for your Christmas turkey yesterday. I typically don’t use a meat thermometer, but it came in handy yesterday for me as well. I have been only looking at social media a little, but, yeah, a lot of positive posts.
Have a great day!
