Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some hot cocoa or other beverage. It is a little damp out right now, but currently not raining. It is also relatively warm. After the frigid start to the week it is nice for it to warm up, though now it is above average and will stay warmer for a while. I’m not complaining… Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
First, I took the week off. I drove down here Monday afternoon, so have been here most of the week. I’ll drive back before work starts again – I did not bring my work laptop down here…
I did get into my exercise routine a little more this week, which was good. Last week was the worst for many reasons, including the animals did not like me doing it. I was able to run on Tuesday and Thursday and added a couple of miles (over 3 km) actually on the beach (sand) and not just beach access. The first time the access road was closed and people waved me off. I discovered the sand was hard enough to run, so I decided to do it again on Thursday.
Besides that it was a pretty lazy week. I walked in the woods every day and on the beach the days I didn’t run on the beach. I played with and walked the dogs a few times a day. And I read. Pretty much it. Lazy and relaxing. Yes, walking/running 10 miles/16 km and more a day is what I call relaxing, even adding in an hour of weight exercise every other day ;)
So, today is the last day of 2022! I have not done as much reflecting as some years, but it will hit me over the next day or two. Part of my relaxation was making plans for 2023. Are you ready for the new year?
Anyway, Fiyero has been whining at me to take him out, so, since it isn’t raining, I’ll go out with him.
Thanks for stopping in! There is now linkup today, so I may not be able to get to other people doing coffee shares today, but I will try to visit some.
Happy New Year!!
The Weekend Coffee Share is hosted by Natalie the Explorer. She is taking a break for the holidays, but the official share will return next week!
Happy, creative & healthy 2023, Trent!

Hola my friend. Wishing you and yours a blissful new 2023 of ease, peace, laughter and light.
It seems you had a fairly good time wrapping up the year. We are visiting my father and brought in a quiet, sweet new year. We will head back home tomorrow, then back to the routine and work.
Glad you enjoyed your myriad runs.
Could you please link my post to Weekly smiles, as I may be on the road then. Only if you can. :)

Sounds peaceful. Running isn’t my thing but walking in the woods and on the beach sounds just right. What’s the story on the (Bacardi?) bat mug? Good choice not to bring the work laptop.

The mug is a drawing by Edward Gorey. There is a museum for him a few miles down the road from my house on the Cape. He has a very dark style – look him up if you don’t know him.
It was nice and peaceful. Relaxing.
Hope you had a good New Year!

Just went to his house website and looked around. He put his creative mind to good use. Thanks, I did and hope to keep it rolling through 2023 :)

Yeah, the Edward Gorey House is the place I picked up the mug. He was a very interesting guy!
