Hello and Welcome! Come on in and brush off all of that snow. It is coming down hard, isn’t it? Here, I’ll get a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. I think we got at least 8 inches/20 cm over night and it will snow all day dropping another 3 or 4 inches (7 – 10 cm). Oh, and where is all of this snow flying? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from new Hampshire.
Last week I talked about the revenge of winter. We had that one bitter cold day and couple of other frigid mornings (10 F/-12 C and less), but for the most part it warmed up. The problem was that we had several snow events. Not big downfalls, like today, but a short squall leaving only 1 or 2 cm followed by a break and then another short squall. Over and over. Every time the driveway is cleared, another squall comes through – and the drive needs to be cleared, because I will have ice build up if I don’t… Anyway, despite some melting (clearing of roads!) later in the week, it still looked like winter even before the snow began last night. And although the week looks warmish (for early March in New Hampshire), there is snow forecast for next weekend! Oh well, we had spring all winter, so I guess we’ll have winter in the spring…
It was a work week. OK, next…
I did not exercise as much as I would have wished, though I did get out for a good run yesterday after the roads were cleared and before this system moved in. I read. I wrote, including a story not for the blog (if it isn’t used elsewhere, I will put t on the blog). I played music though didn’t record anything new. I listened to a lot of music, particularly the music of Wayne Shorter. If you don’t know the name, he played with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, then was in Mile’s second great quintet, writing most of the music. He was a huge part of 70s fusion with Weather Report. He did solo albums and played with a telephone book worth of musicians. He wrote a lot of what are now considered standards. Anyway, he passed away this week.
Hmm, what else? The typical dog walks, playing with the puppies, playing with cats, etc. Tiberius has lately decided to sleep on top of me every night, despite the dogs being up against me.
Well, I have things to do, like seeing if I have a spare thermocoupler so I can get the heater running again and turn off all of the electric space heaters that are presently keeping the house warm… If you remember me replacing a thermocoupler last year, that was on Cape Cod. I am not going out to pick one up until the the snow is done, the driveway cleared and roads passable…
Thanks for visiting! If you have a coffee share I will try to stop by! I do hit most of them, but for some reason I can’t figure out how to leave comments on non-Word Press blogs.
Have a great weekend!
Natalie the Explorer is the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!
(Do you ever have times when a post does not show up after you publish it? I have to un-publish it (switch to draft) and then republish it. So frustrating. Yep, happened today…)
You must have a got a good workout shoveling all that snow. Nice run down of events.

I didn’t get as much exercise as usual, so I’m glad the shoveling counts! lol Yes, ti is exercise to shovel, and it was wet, heavy snow, so worse than usual.
Have a good week :)

Haha. Yes, it does. I can imagine how much worse that was.
Thanks, you too. 🙂

Enjoyed the coffee!
Thank you, Trent!
Same here, winter has been making late appearances. Thing is, it was the darkest, bleakest, grimmest winter, ever. Talk about light deprivation.
You have heat. You’ll get the furnace fixed anon.
Cheers!

It didn’t take me long to get the heater working again, which was good. For the most part we had a mild winter, which makes this late season weather all the worst – I could handle it in January, but after having relatively nice weather in January, having it in March? Yuck.
Have a great week :)

Glad the furnace is fixed.
I’m with you on the weird weather this winter.
Well, it’s only 8 days now until the first day of spring.
I’m hoping for an old fashioned spring. You know, 3 months of temperate weather, while buds and early blooms happen.
Last 5 years it’s 3 weeks of temperate, 2 weeks of rain and right into AC weather.
Then it’s too hot all summer.
Cheers!

We’ve had those strange, too short springs as well. I don’t want winter to stretch through March (it sometimes does here), but it is better than the heat!

Omg, I love ☕could use some right now! Last week was rough, worked wayyyyyy too much, don’t really enjoy dark roast though or dark tea, I like green tea 😋. I haven’t been exercising much myself either 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏽♀️ but I hope to soon! I live in Florida, we never see snow ❄and cold weather is pleasant every now and then, lol!

I think I’ll have to get you some green tea since as far as coffee, just dark roast – of course, since it is virtual, I guess I can dig up anything 😉 I have seen that while we are cold up here in new Hampshire (❄), you’ve been warmer than usual done in FL. I’m ready for warmer weather, but not for Florida summer hot! Have a great week!

10 degrees is pretty cold in my book and I know clearing snow gets pretty old pretty quick. But once done, the cold world outside your door can be breathtakingly beautify – something we’ll never see here in Sonoma county, Calif. I don’t know yet where we’re going to land, but I kinda hope we’ll have some weather like yours.

I actually do like the winter, but it can get a little tiring. This year was tough in that it seems the majority of our winter is late February and early March, not January into February (OK, we did have a couple of big snows in January, but that was it – one week of snow). The return of winter has put some of my plans on hold… I hope you do find a nice northern location to settle down in. I’m sure I wouldn’t like southern CA.
Have a great week!

You’ve been fairly busy,
Winters bid us adieu here pretty early this year, but mornings and evening are nippy and days are warm.
Have a more easy paced week ahead, Trent.

Thanks, Natasha. I hope you have a wonderful week.

Can’t the weather be a reason to not have exercised as much as you hoped? Although, I suppose there’s indoor exercises you could do. Nevertheless, I’m sure you’ll be back to your routine in no time! 🙂 It’s so strange for me to see parts of the U.S. covered in snow while I’m down south warm and ready for summer… 😅 Stay warm and have a great week!

A series of snow events is hard on anyone who has to shovel. I hope you get a break next week. Thank you for your weekend coffee share. Have a great week ahead!

Just snow and be done with it… Right now the week looks clear, but next weekend looks snowy.
Thanks. Hope you have a good week :)

They are promising us snow, I hope it doesn’t start until the long journey from London to Cheshire is over on Wednesday. Fingers crossed.

I can relate to the snow coming, going away/turning into ice, more snow coming etcetera. It is still a build-up on ice on many of the smaller roads here. The ground has a thick layer of snow, especially outside of the city. The weather is pretty pleasant though, we are expecting slight cold spell next week, but not too bad. I hope you weekend os wonderful. Thank you for the coffee, just what I needed. Going to start working on my writing nook now :)

A big issue for me is that my driveway is in a kind of man-made valley – my house is to the south and blocks the sun and then there is a large hill to the north. It never gets sun and has its own micro-climate…
Although you can see spring, sounds like you are still in winter as well, maybe even deeper in than we are.
Have a great week!

I know that spring technically only starts on 21 March on the Equinox but once we’re in March, I’m starting to resent snow, as beautiful it is… hope it’ll stop causing you problems soon, too!

I agree – in NH we often have snow in March, but still, it should be spring! Yeah, I’m hoping we’ll soon see the last of the snow.

Have I mentioned how glad I am that I don’t have to shovel snow? :-) Good on you for getting out to exercise anyway. I’ve been slacking so much in that department, and I don’t even have weather as an excuse–just work and being tired.
Have a great week!

Work and being tired is one reason I didn’t exercise as much as I wanted to. that and the dogs demand walks as soon as I get out of work. But, damn it, I was going to get a run in no matter! lol.
I actually don’t mind shoveling much as long as I have no pressure and can do when I want to. Don’t send in the nice young men in their clean white coats yet – I love being outside, and there is an element of exercise. I typically do a lot of thinking as I shovel, similar to takign a long walk. I hate snow blowing and I hate Having to shovel at a specific time, but shoveling itself? Not bad.
I hope you are having a great weekend :)

Brrrr. Reading your post made me cold. I applaud anyone who gets out exercises is those frigid temperatures. Good luck with your heater repair! Also, I have trouble with some of the Blogger blogs too. It’s unfortunate.

I was in luck and found an old stash of thermocouplers and was able to fix the furnace within minutes after writing this :) And I got plenty of exercise today shoveling snow. lol. Weight exercise and such is easy (if I have time), but running can be a problem not because of the cold (I dress as if I am cross country skiing) but because of the road conditions.
I hope you are having a great weekend.

We can get a lot of snow here, and we can get snow storms into April, but typically when March is here the snow is a little less relentless… Yeah, I’m tired of it :)
