Hello and Welcome! Come on in, take off your wet jacket and I will get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some hot cocoa or other beverage. Yuck, it looks like a cool, grey and damp day today! At least it isn’t snowing. And there is no snow on the ground. Back in New Hampshire there is plenty of snow on the ground and there is snow expected during the week for my part of the state (maybe). Oh, if I’m not in New Hampshire right now, where am I? If you don’t recognize the photo at the top and and don’t know where I usually am when not in NH, I am on Cape Cod.
OK, a work week. We accomplished much. The end.
If you didn’t read my Weekly Smile on Monday, on Sunday I saw a band perform Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon straight through and pretty close to how it is on the album. They did a few other Pink Floyd songs during their second set.
Tuesday our Lions club sponsored a candidates night. This Tuesday is elections for local offices, including school board. This is a chance for the public to meet the candidates for the positions so there is more than just a name on a sign. We do it every year.
I had massage on Wednesday after work and drove down here Wednesday evening.
I did get a little exercise in this week, but not as much as I’d like. I was able to run Thursday, but, again, not as much as I need.
When I was in NH I walked the dogs, meet with friends, read, wrote, played music (yes, I am back to doing more of that now) and other such things. I brought the cats to Cape Cod with me, but no dogs, so no dog walks. But, as I said, I did a run on Thursday, and since I worked late a few times during the week, I left a little early on Friday and was able to get a long walk in the woods in and then another long walk on the beach before it got dark! I’ve also been reading here and playing with music. Maybe something new will come of it ;)
Thinking of something new coming from music, I have posted a couple of new videos that did not make it the coffee share. I will post them at the bottom of the post, in case you are interested. One is a quick, I hope fun, jam with a little animation I did. The other is an orchestrated Art Song (i.e., modern classic, but don’t let that label scare you).
Well, that is about it. The rain is slowing down, so I may try to sneak a walk in before it starts again.
Thanks for visiting! If you have a coffee share I will try to stop by :)
Have a great weekend!
Natalie the Explorer is the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

That sounds like a marvellous week. It appears you have a great balance between work and play. I am not always that balanced, sometimes I realise that I have not made time for friends in several weeks. I’ll have to work on that. Thank you for your positive, inspiring post. Have a fabulous new week!

Work was tough, but I try my best to leave work mentally when the work day is done…
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Pink Floyd Dark Side of the moon would have been special to see. One of my dads favorite bands, and I loved the sound effects on that album. One of the first singles I bought was brick in the wall.

It was a lot of fun to see/hear Dark Side of the Moon. They did a good job with a lot of the sound effects. The first real rock album I revived for Christmas was PF’s Adam Heart Mother, though it was almost a decade after it was released.

Thank you for your weekend coffee share and music. Being on Cape Cod and getting a break from snow sounds good. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks. It was good to get away. We are expecting quite a bit of snow on Tuesday, so being snow free for a while was nice…
Have a wonderful week!

Black-eyed Susan is enchanting, in word, sound, and video. A definite Phillip Glass flavor to it.

Thanks! I’m sure there is a little Phillip Glass influence, though maybe more in chords and colors than in style.

And I am, indeed, drinking coffee — and watching an old “Rawhide” episode. The very young Clint Eastwood.

I’ve only watched the show a few times, so when I hear/read the name, I think of The Blues Brothers… lol Yes, a very young Clint, as are the first couple of Spaghetti westerns (Fist full of Dollars, etc.), which, thinking music, have some of the best soundtracks of all time.

How much of a drive is it from your home to Cape Cod? Getting a massage the same day is probably a good idea!

It is a little less than 3 hours – about 145 miles. the problem with the massage is that I am almost too relaxed ;)
I hope you are having a great weekend!

Hi Trent, it sounds like a good week. I’m glad you have the cats to keep you company.

Love the musical creations coming out of your studio! In the graveyard strut is that the synthesizer making that great sound like a raspberry on a trumpet?

Thanks, Rebecca! Except the percussion all sounds are synth, but I think I know what you mean – Are you talking the lead line/solo that runs through most of it and has the “melody” (if you can call it that? That is the Berhinger Poly D, which is a clone of a Minimoog, one of the most popular synths of the 70s, though used far beyond. That sound, which I guess is a little brassy, is typical of a minimoog type sound.

That’s a fabulous sound, reminds me of Satchmo.

I played trumpet for many years before I played synth, so it is possible that I still phrase things the way trumpet players do…

I’m glad the snow might be over for you (hopefully). Spring seems late this year. I enjoyed both musical pieces, Trent, particularly the second: Black-eyed Susan. You are quite the musical talent! Have a great weekend, even with the gloomy skies. :-)

I am hoping the snow is over! The forecast shows a town 10 miles away having rain on Tuesday while my town is showing 6 inches of wet, heavy snow! At least the snow is done on Cape Cod. As to Spring, we did have a late blast of winter that was, in ways, worse than mid-winter, but March is still winter in NH, so we are pretty much on track… I hope.
Hope your weekend is going well!

I remember living in VT and getting dumped on with snow on St. Patrick’s Day, But then… spring.

Yeah, and you may have even seen those April snows in VT! But spring does arrive, and we hope before the 21st.

Sounds like a good week overall – except for the no dogs part. (I’m sitting here with a 7 pound lap dog). Graveyard Strut is aptly name. It *is* creepy. And well done. Black-Eyed Susan is very pretty. Fun stuff, composing your own music! A talent completely out of my reach.

For the most part the week was pretty good, despite the few days without the dogs ;) My two are closer to 70 lbs than 7, but they still think they are lap dogs – Fiyero, the boxer, thinks he has to sleep on top of me every night! The cats, of course, try to remind him that the “daddy pillow” is their place…
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the music :)
Have a great weekend!

What a busy week. But you finished it well. ;-) The weather seems to be the same in the Northern hemisphere. ;-/ I want to have a little bit more summer. :-) Best wishes! Enjoy your weekend, Trent! xx Michael

I think everyone in the northern hemisphere is waiting for spring… though in the southern US they have had record breaking heat, so…
Have a great week!
