Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some cocoa or other beverage. It is gorgeous out there, if not really warm. A few stray clouds, but plenty of sunshine. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
A quick word about coffee – There still may be one or two of you out there that remember me offering a strong French Roast but now it is a strong dark roast. I mix pretty close to a third each of French Roast, Sumatra and a single origin Medium Roast, usually something named after an island. I still like a bit of the strong, burnt taste of French Roast, but the Sumatra adds a smooth, silky richness, like a strong dark (80% or more) chocolate. The Medium Roast adds that aroma that we all love but the dark roasts lack. I brew it in an old school percolator. Yum! I get spoiled and think most coffee is too weak…
Busy work week…
The first half of the week was pretty normal. It was walking the dogs and such, but then I drove down here Wednesday evening. I brought cats, but not dogs. Thursday was wet after work, but Friday was nice.
So I was able to get a little more into my exercise routine than I have recently. I ran Saturday, Tuesday and Friday. I did strength exercise two days. It is nice and I am feeling better from it.
Sunrise On Friday morning is below…

I did a little music (I wrote a song and am mentally trying to figure out how it will be recorded). I read a lot and did some writing. I had massage on Wednesday. As I said, dog walks and such early in the week. Not so much the end – I did walk some since arriving on the Cape, particularly on Friday, but haven’t been out as much as I’d like. My run took me on the beach access roads, but I haven’t been on the beach or in the woods.
Anyway, as you may guess, that last line, together with the first paragraph about being gorgeous out there,is a hint that I need to get outside!
Thanks for visiting. If you have a coffee share, I will try to stop by.

That’s a nice sunrise on the water & to be there walking & enjoying it would be awesome. The chocolate in the coffee sounds good. Sometimes I mix 1/2 coffee & 1/2 hot chocolate. #Weekendcoffeeshare

It is always nice to be by the water and I take every opportunity to be by the water when I am on Cape Cod.
By the way, I have tried to leave comments on your blog but for some reason I have issues leaving comments on everything except WordPress. Hope your move went well! Are you close to the water or more in the mountains? Anyway, I am sure closer to the water than you were ;)
Hope you are having a great week!

That does sound like a strong coffee preference! Have a great week, Trent!

Yes, and preference is the right word – I’m not a total coffee snob and will drink what is put in front of me, but if I can have my way…
You too, have a great week!

Glad you’re having some good weather! I hope you were able to get some beach and forest time. It’s been chillier than usual here (it’s 42 as I type this) but sunny and pleasant. My exercise today will be planting all the plants I bought yesterday.
Have a great week!

There is nothing enjoyable about a weak cup of coffee.
The Friday sunrise picture is lovely. Happy Sunday, Trent.

Loving the coffee chat this morning. Just had mine brought to me. The clocks have changed here. Definitely needed it to get going!

Our clocks changed two weeks ago and I don’t think I’ve recovered yet…
I hope you have a good week and aren’t too thrown off by the time change.

Hey Trent,
As a confirmed tea drinker, I’m still “developing” a taste for coffee and now have days when, after multiple mugs of strong tea, I still want something stronger so out comes the coffee. I know that I don’t make it as strong as two of our three adult kids make it, but I’m gaining on them slowly.
I do not enjoy the acidic after taste and stomach impact so this keeps me from just diving in and brewing up thick, chewy coffee when I do make it.
Do I lose points for always adding milk and occasionally a bit of sugar?
Your week sounded wonderful even though your weather must still be a bit of a challenge to enjoy.

I really didn’t drink much coffee until my 30s, but when I started, I went directly to the “hard stuff”. That being said, I put a half spoon of raw sugar and tiny splash of half-and-half into my first cup in the morning. I refill before it is empty, so the sugar and 1/2-and-1/2 is more and more diluted as the morning goes on…
We had a few cool days and a little wet weather (Thursday and most of today), but for the most part it is much closer to spring in New England, so i do enjoy it… I even saw crocuses.
Hope your weekend is going well.

I agree that most coffee is definitely too weak!! Coffee has to be strong. I just finished a cup of a strong dark roast that I made in my smaller French press. I use a smaller French press in the afternoon. I only have one small cup then, stronger than the 1-2 cups I have in the morning. In the morning I make my coffee in a bigger French press. Yesterday I visited a bigger store in a multicultural area that had a lot of interesting coffee. Mos too the packages were huge 5lbs, or bigger. They were all whole beans, and at the moment I don’t have a coffee grinder. I might invest in one though, just to try some of those interesting imported coffees.
Have a fabulous rest of your weekend!

I do have a French press but have only used it a few times. The coffee seemed a little weak, yet it held a bigger caffeine kick. I think I need to experiment to get it just right. I also had a grinder, but haven’t used it in a while and don’t even know where it is any more. I should get a new one, but I want a hand cranked one instead of the electric whiz type I had. I do like experimenting with different coffees, so I’d be with you checking out some of those imports.
Have a wonderful weekend!
