Hi All! Truthfully, this has been a pretty rough week. No, no, nothing terrible has happened. It has just been super busy. Some of it has been been normal projects getting close to crunch time busy but some has been emergency, all hands on deck busy. And then I am so far behind in work around the house, that I had to do a huge amount over the weekend. But there has been a few good things to take my mind off of it. For example, I was able to run a few times last week.
More than just exercise, I took a couple of hours on Saturday and a couple of more on Sunday morning and did a recording. This was just a simple “jam”. I didn’t even attempt to put any structure to it. There is no song form, just modal jamming.
In some ways the simple “just jamming” was exactly what I needed. I could just play and not worry about changes, etc. I do like it.
There is a story behind the piece, which I tell on the video (I’ll post at the bottom). The song title is “Kibble Topper”. We use some wet food as kibble topper when we feed the dogs. I play piano when I feed the dogs. This is kibble topper for puppies’ minds ;)
Anyway, it was a lot of fun and a good break.
So that was my smile, taking a few hours out to record a bit of silliness.
What made you smile?
****
Come on, I’m sure you smiled at least once last week. Why don’t you share it? I hope you can join in!
Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas. If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity. Don’t smile about the misfortune of others. Don’t smile in a way to excludes others. Make sure a 12 year old can read it.
To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile. Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment :) ). You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me). Note – I am no longer compiling the smiles into a weekly post as I used to – Sorry, I do not have time.

How FUN!! Jamming is a wonderful way to relax and so cute the dogs love it too! Funny how they won’t eat unless you play, adorable!! 🤩

There’s something wonderful about just playing with our creativity instead of trying to accomplish something. I need to remember that when I’m struggling with writing. I tend to make it into a job so much that the joy is gone. Glad you got some time to jam and recover from a rough work week!

Yep, sometime you just need to let it flow. First drafts in writing are often like that for me – I tend towards the panster side of things.
Thanks!

It’s a zen thing – clear your mind and just play. It is great for releasing some of the tension :)
