If We Were Having Coffee on the 20th of May, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It isn’t bad outside, but obvious that rain is on the way. Most of the week was pretty nice. Wednesday was cool and it was unusually cold Wednesday night into Thursday, but beyond that, pretty typical for this time of year. In fact, the week started more like early summer than mid Spring. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from New Hampshire.

It was a very busy week at work. I didn’t feel as beat up as some recent weeks, but it did dictate things like I had one blog post on Monday and that was it. I just did not want to be sitting in front of a computer when not at work!!! So no reading blogs either. (some limited exceptions).

I was able to run a couple of times. Not totally back to the routine, but it was great stress relief. I did my exercise routine once – way off track there! I walked the dogs, though no walks during work hours (might be obvious, but I usually try to get at least two short walks in during the day – when I don’t, my blood pressure goes up – my body is not made for sitting!!). I had massage on Wednesday. I read some and did other things like that. I did spend an hour editing a story I wrote for a project, but writing has been down recently…

The big thing I did was play music. I just picked up a new synthesizer and have been playing around with it a lot. I did two recordings already – yes, I’ve now had it almost exactly two weeks. I will post my “First Impressions” video at the bottom of the page. Funny, but after being out walking, playing around with an instrument like this is the biggest stress release I can imagine. (The sounds are created from the ground up using sine waves… To program, you have to be in that zone that all creatives hit, only it is easier here)

I have a lot to do this weekend – some visiting, I have to mow. I need to get out and explore. I will make that second video and perhaps do more creation… And be outside, exploring or not!

Thanks for stopping in! If you have a coffee share, I will try to visit. I usually hit all of those posted in the share, though rarely comment on the non-WordPress ones.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Natalie the Explorer is the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. Stop in at this week’s main share page or go to the InLinkz-Linkup to see all of the other shares!

Wow, cool video. i don’t know much about the Maclavier.
The Synclavier was something we all drooled over in the 80s – I saw a demo at Ohio State and the unit they had was a half a million! They had the original hard disks (in the 80s!) of Stings Dream of Blue Turtles with them. And Steve Wonder had one of these as well.
I plan on posting a first impressions of the Synclavier Regen tomorrow (it’s about 1% of the original price ;) ) I made another video that I’ll post as well. I will also post a link of Stevie on The Cosby show demonstrating the original Synclav.

I think hard drives were first – but the thing was, they had these huge, refrigerator size units full of discs that were could handle about a percent of what the drive on my laptop can take, if that.

Happy Weekend! I know I need to walk more but I walk a lot during the workday & I’m ready to sit at the end of the day. I helped with the weed eating this week & for some reason, every part of my body felt sore, gracious.

I am opposite you, at least lately – I haven’t been able to walk during the work day so I’m ready to move by the end of the day…
Sometimes there is that “good sore”. lol, I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but I get what you are saying.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Hi Trent! I’m so glad to hear you’re prioritizing being out and about (and away from your computer) whenever possible! Spring has a way of drawing us outside and I love it! And what fun to be creating music! Sounds like you’re keeping busy, as always, and maybe finding a new groove as the seasons shift, I trust it’ll all fall in nicely. Surely cutting the grass will help offer a “clean” slate :-) Hope your weekend is everything you need it to be!

I tried to leave you a message on your new blog, but looking it didn’t make it. Anyway, nice to see you back in the coffee share, even if you can only be here once a month or so :)
Even through the winter I try to make as much outside time as possible, but for the last few weeks work has had me glued to my chair all day. But, yeah, the nicer weather really does pull me that direction :) It’s raining now, so mowing has to be pushed back another day…
I hope you are having a great weekend!

Hi Trent! Thanks for popping over! I like my new site and have been greatly enjoying pulling it all together, though learning a new platform has provided quite the curve for me, including the comment section! It’s not my favorite commenting platform and I do wonder what may have happened to your comment? Thank you for trying!

I hope you’re able to get outside today and that the week ahead involves a tad less chair time!

It rained most of the day yesterday, so I didn’t get out much, but have been out most of the day today :)
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Great opening image with your books. I think it’s great that you typically try to fit short walks into your work day. They say that all of us that sit for long periods for work should do that, but I don’t know how many people actually do. Good job. Hope you enjoy your outside time. Thanks for the virtual coffee.

I’ve tried to get short walks in during working hours pretty much my entire career. It does help me on so many levels. I did get a walk in before the rain came – I can still be a bit active in the house, so not stuck behind the computer (this is the first time I sat at the computer since I posted the coffee share).
      Thnaks for stopping by :)
