Hello and Welcome to Trent’s World Blog! Now what’s this blog all about? Play the music below and I’ll explain:
I use this as my ring tone. It’s not the greatest piece I’ve written. Some of the music I’ve created is technically much better and some is much more original. I’ve delved deeper into meaning.
So why this particular piece?
This little ditty, the Scherzo to my Piano Sonata in C# minor, perhaps best tells the story of my art. It’s intricate yet doesn’t take itself too seriously; dark yet not scary; beyond the every day (I hope) yet not pretentious. I think it’s fun!
That’s what my blog is about. On occasion I might try to teach myself a lesson and hope you’ll also learn something. I try to move beyond the ordinary to inspire creativity but don’t take myself too seriously.
You’ll find short stories, poems, reviews and just ramblings about life.
As an example of what you might find here, this is the most popular short fiction I’ve posted to date (early January 2014):
I think you can describe this story in much the same way as you can the scherzo to my Piano Sonata in C# minor. What do you think?

Above all, have fun.

Liking the Sonata I’m listening to, and your self portrait is very neat!
Actually, all your drawings I’ve seen have a unique character about them.
Took me long enough to check out your about page!

Thanks! Actually, my about is really old and needs an update! Oh well… Yes, I do wear a hat all of the time, but no longer the purplish one I had on when I did that drawing….

I like your scherzo and it reminds me of Bach and modern music at the same time

Thanks! That was, in some ways part of the idea of the whole sonata – I was trying for a Bach-lie counterpoint while using modern chords and structures. If you’re interested I once did a post on the first movement: https://trentsworldblog.wordpress.com/2014/03/17/careful-what-you-wish-for-prelude-to-sonata/

O thank you I love classical music in all genres from Renaissance to modern styles and sometimes writes about it though it is very difficult to describe music in words
