If We Were Having Coffee on the 27th of May, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome. Come on over at sit at the “picnic table” and I’ll get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is a gorgeous day! It is sunny with a slight breeze. Still a little cool, but it will warm up without getting hot. I did get short walk in already this morning – amazing how many people were out at 7 AM on a Saturday! Oh, where are we? Some of you may know that photo at the top as coming from Cape Cod.

I took yesterday (Friday) off work. I did a long kayak paddle in the early morning. I then stood in line for over an hour to get beach stickers – yeah, I have been getting them on line. I will again next year! In the afternoon I took a long walk in the woods. At one place I watched five osprey hit the water! And an eagle flew over. I saw it catch and drop two fish. So seven hits on the water overall (the osprey are more impressive hitting the water, but the eagle is a more impressive bird). I did get some photos, though not a good one of an osprey hitting the water.

If We Were Having Coffee on the 20th of May, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It isn’t bad outside, but obvious that rain is on the way. Most of the week was pretty nice. Wednesday was cool and it was unusually cold Wednesday night into Thursday, but beyond that, pretty typical for this time of year. In fact, the week started more like early summer than mid Spring. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from New Hampshire.

It was a very busy week at work. I didn’t feel as beat up as some recent weeks, but it did dictate things like I had one blog post on Monday and that was it. I just did not want to be sitting in front of a computer when not at work!!! So no reading blogs either. (some limited exceptions).

I was able to run a couple of times. Not totally back to the routine, but it was great stress relief. I did my exercise routine once – way off track there! I walked the dogs, though no walks during work hours (might be obvious, but I usually try to get at least two short walks in during the day – when I don’t, my blood pressure goes up – my body is not made for sitting!!). I had massage on Wednesday. I read some and did other things like that. I did spend an hour editing a story I wrote for a project, but writing has been down recently…

The big thing I did was play music. I just picked up a new synthesizer and have been playing around with it a lot. I did two recordings already – yes, I’ve now had it almost exactly two weeks. I will post my “First Impressions” video at the bottom of the page. Funny, but after being out walking, playing around with an instrument like this is the biggest stress release I can imagine. (The sounds are created from the ground up using sine waves… To program, you have to be in that zone that all creatives hit, only it is easier here)

I have a lot to do this weekend – some visiting, I have to mow. I need to get out and explore. I will make that second video and perhaps do more creation… And be outside, exploring or not!

Thanks for stopping in! If you have a coffee share, I will try to visit. I usually hit all of those posted in the share, though rarely comment on the non-WordPress ones.

Have a wonderful weekend!

If We Were Having Coffee on the 13th of May, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in, or, it being so beautiful, sit in a chair in the back yard. I will get you a nice mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is nice! Warm, but not hot. A slight hint of a breeze, but pretty calm. The birds are singing. Ahhhh…. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.

The first three days of the week were ultra busy with work. But then I took Thursday and Friday off…. I drove to the Cape on Wednesday night.

The reason I took time off was to do a project on the house. We have been having plumbing issues – there are two tiny (full) bathrooms on the second floor. There has been some water, and it was getting worse. I called in a plumber and he said I’d have to take down the ceiling before he could give me an estimate. Fair enough.

So, this was taken on Thursday morning:

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. It is pretty nice out there and will turn into a beautiful day! After all of the rain this week, that will be very welcome. Yeah, it was wet and cold, so… Anyway, I am sure you are asking, where are we this week? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.

Work was, well… Anyway, I am just glad the work week is over!!!

If We Were Having Coffee on the 29th of April, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some hot cocoa or other beverage. It looked nice out just a few minutes ago but has clouded over and is windy. Still, the rain is supposed to hold off until late tonight. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from Cape Cod.

I drove down here on Sunday night. I don’t drive in as pounding rain often! Not totally awful, but…

This was a work week and ultra-busy again. We did meet a major milestone on one project, so some good, but I felt beat up all week. Enough work…

If We Were Having Coffee on the 22nd of April, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a nice large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some hot cocoa or other beverage. After a really nice day yesterday it is a little cloudy and coolish, but pretty typical for this time of year in this part of the world. I think it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow, but you know what they say about April showers… Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo as being from New Hampshire.

Work was super busy. Not the worst ever, but… I am glad the work week is over.

Because work was so stressful, I almost forget everything else that happened this week! OK, I did go in for routine blood work on Wednesday and had massage on Wednesday afternoon. I remember those things. The rest of the week?

If We Were Having Coffee on the 15th of April, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some hot cocoa or other beverage. It is cool out there compared to the last few days, but spring jacket weather. It is a bit foggy and the air is full of mist. Still, it doesn’t feel bad and is very much a typical mid-April day. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as coming from Cape Cod.

I did mention the weather. It was a very nice week and grew to be down right hot on Thursday and Friday. Here on Cape Cod it wasn’t as bad, but it did reach 80 f/27 C yesterday. I ran by the beach on Thursday and the parking area was packed with cars, though the beach did not look crowded at all.

I had a few days in New Hampshire by myself. It’s not as if I did anything – I worked. I had to meet some people for Lions Club on Monday afternoon (same people as last Saturday, but more successful). We also had a full meeting on Tuesday evening. I drove to the Cape on Wednesday evening.

If We Were Having Coffee on the 8th of April, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, a hot cocoa or other beverage! It is a little cool out there, and despite the sunshine, will not get very warm. Well, if I said that three weeks ago… We are in spring and we have had early spring weather most of the week. This week there will be a few days with early summer temperatures. Oh where are we? You may recognize the photo at the top as coming from New Hampshire.

Quick aside – last week I used the same photo and said the daffodils are not blooming yet, but give them a week… Funny thing, I saw the first bloom the very next day! Today they are just like the photo.

And, yeah, it is very much spring here now!

Busy week. Work was busy with no time for anything else. I had a doctor’s appointment on Wednesday and massage on Thursday – not bad things, but did not make the week less busy! I visited friends on Monday and Thursday evening. I had a Lions Club officers meeting yesterday (and have another this morning). I am ready for the world to stop for a few minutes so I can do some of the stuff that I want to do!! (not that visiting friends, having massage, etc. aren’t things I want to do, but…)

If We Were Havign Coffee on the 1st of April, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hey, what are you doing here! Go away, you’re not wanted!

April Fools! 😁😜

Hello and Welcome! That has been my coffeeshare greeting since 2014!! And since 2014 I have offered you a virtual coffee when you showed up, and that is not changing today! So come on in and I’ll get you that super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, hot cocoa or other beverage. It is cool and raining out there. It is going to get pretty warm in the afternoon (around 65F/18C), but will stay wet. We had some spring weather this week (Thursday was cold), but, despite the photo at the top, no daffodils yet. Give it a week. Oh, thinking of that photo, some of you may realize that we are in New Hampshire this week.

Work. OK, enough of that subject.

For the most part, the week is a blur. I did the usual walks, dog walks, dog play, cat play, reading, writing and playing around with music. I have two music projects I am working on… I did get a bit of exercise in, but could have done more. I ran three times, so good to be getting in that routine again. We voted for town offices this week. At some point I may bring up the newest school board member, but not now (no, not me, but close).

That’s about it. I was going to complain about time, but understand that some of you out there have even less than me! Maybe next week I will find a way to squeeze in a little more that sounds fun ;)

Anyway, thanks for stopping by! Despite the rain I have a lot to do today. Since there is no “official” coffee share today, I may not visit you if you have a coffee share post this week.

Natalie the Explorer is the host of the weekend coffee share and she is doing a wonderful job. She is takign a well deserved week off of the coffee share, so no links today :)

Earlier this week I posted a song I did ages ago on YouTube. So far it has half the views as the next lowest and 1/8 the views of the highest (YouTube will tell you that the video has been up x Days and y Hours and here are how the other videos you recently posted performed in that time…) Anyway, so I am going to post it here ;) This was an experiment, not a full “song”, but I liked it – it has an interesting flavor. (note, it is 5-4, 4-4 and 3-4 times, and there are some simple polyrhythms.)

If We Were Having Coffee on the 25th of March, 2023 #weekendcoffeeshare

Hello and Welcome! Come on in and I’ll get you a mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some cocoa or other beverage. It is gorgeous out there, if not really warm. A few stray clouds, but plenty of sunshine. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.

A quick word about coffee – There still may be one or two of you out there that remember me offering a strong French Roast but now it is a strong dark roast. I mix pretty close to a third each of French Roast, Sumatra and a single origin Medium Roast, usually something named after an island. I still like a bit of the strong, burnt taste of French Roast, but the Sumatra adds a smooth, silky richness, like a strong dark (80% or more) chocolate. The Medium Roast adds that aroma that we all love but the dark roasts lack. I brew it in an old school percolator. Yum! I get spoiled and think most coffee is too weak…
