We’ve had a cooler than usual spring, but the last week wasn’t too bad – we had a few warmer days mixed in with the cool. The weekend will be cool again, but next week we will get down right hot, with a couple of days over 87 F (31 C). Were are we? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as being from New Hampshire.

I drove back from Cape Cod on Saturday evening. I did have a good, if low key, day down there after my coffee post, but needed to head north.

There wasn’t much happening during the week. I did run twice, and each time it was warm enough for just shorts and t-shirt (I think in the 70s/20s C both days). I did my other exercise routine three times and had massage. I walked every day, both with the dogs and without. I spent more time than usual chatting with neighbors (good weather?). I played with cats and kittens (Tiberius is doing great after his surgery).

Work was tough and I returned to over 400 emails on Monday. OK, enough about work, it is the weekend…

I practiced music, but really didn’t do a whole lot. I wrote a little but have been avoiding “real work” in my writing. I read some.

I’ll admit that I went down a couple of Internet wormholes (or are they rabbit holes? I guess it depends on if the journey is sci-fi or whimsical fantasy). Anyway, as an example, I would remember an old movie. I do a search and find the name, say Sunset Blvd. Then I would get sucked into reading about it and watching clips on YouTube. I would finally emerge and wonder why the clock said 9:30 PM when I knew it was 7! The dangers of sitting too close to the computer!

As usual I have a busy weekend planned and need to get to it.

The dogs were with their human mother visiting Maine, so it was just the cats and bird and me. The cats were a lot of fun and slept on top of me all night every night. When the dogs are away, the cats will play might not be the way the saying goes, but it is true here.

In fact, this entire week was very much spring with a few days of short-sleeve/no-jacket weather! Oh, were are we? Some of you may recognize the photo, though I’ve only used it a couple of times, as coming from New Hampshire. And, yes, the daffodils have been out all week :)

Since the weather was so nice, I did a lot outside. Down on Cape Cod last weekend I did my first kayak paddle of the year. I did a couple of very long walks in the woods in New Hampshire (I don’t call it a “hike” unless it is at least two or three hours…). I ran in just shorts and t-shirt a couple of times. Of course there is walking dogs and such included in there.

Work…, well, OK, I worked this week.

It is a beautiful day out there, maybe a bit on the cool side, but sunny and not cold. And, actually, not windy, which is a huge plus. Oh, were are we? I drove down here on Wednesday evening. Thursday was a little wet and cool and I really didn’t do a huge amount, though the dogs had quite a few walks and play time. Friday started wetter, but turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. I did get a long walk at the beach in, as well as dog walks. I went for breakfast this morning and just got back.

Earlier in the week I was in New Hampshire and the dogs on the Cape, but I did a lot of very long walks without them. I also did a couple of runs and have kept up my exercise routine. There was a massage on Wednesday.

The sun is shining, and, yeah, pretty typical for late March or early April. Jacket weather, but not coat. Oh, where are we? I know I only used that photo a couple of times, but some of you may still recognize it as Spring in New Hampshire (the red trillium aren’t out yet, but will be very soon!)

This was another odd week. First, I spent it mostly alone – my wife and dogs are on Cape Cod (they haven’t been there all year!) and I am home alone with the cats. So although I did a lot of walking, not dog walks since Monday afternoon.

Work was… OK, enough about work.

Today is a light jacket day, so much like a typical early spring day. It is now sunny, but we might see some passing showers. Oh, where are we? This is one of those odd weeks that I have no idea what I did! I did try to spend a lot of time outside, since it was a bit warmer and felt a little like early spring in New Hampshire. That included running – yes, I am back into the routine! Also dog walks, but few really long walks or short hikes.

It is foggy and, when I was down at one of the landings, I could see raindrops hitting the water as if raining hard, though I didn’t feel it. Anyway, with the cool wet, it feels pretty miserable, so you’ll need that hot beverage. Oh, where are we? If the photo at the top and my description of the day didn’t give it away, we are on Cape Cod.

I drove down with Alexander on Tuesday evening. Alexander is right now in my lap, were he has been most of the week. He has slept beside me each night as well. I am not sure if he is a little out of sorts and so needs his Daddy or he is taking advantage of being only mammal when he usually has to compete with Fiyero, Idina (dogs), Grace Kelly, Tiberius (cats) and Figaro (bird (ok, not a mammal, but…)).

We may get some snow later, though it shouldn’t last very long – the 4 inches (10 cm) we got Wednesday was gone by 5 PM on Thursday. Oh, where are we with such contrasts as snow and melting sun? It was an odd week over all. Work was, well, let’s not talk about work ;) We voted on Tuesday (local offices, etc.) and had Town Meeting on Thursday – I had to miss this year, which is bad – when you have such direct democracy, you need to take advantage of it! I had massage on Wednesday and an MRI on Thursday (odd experience which I will talk more about when I know more about it…).

There was, of course, the weather thing with some very warm (for early March in NH) days (up to 65F/18C), some snow, and everything in between.

Not super cold, and much “warmer” than yesterday morning, but for some reason it feels cold. Ah, the sun is coming up and soon it will feel great. We had “yo-yo weather all week with a few frigid starts to the days, but also some warmer weather. Looking ahead, we may actually have a stretch of early spring, as opposed to the winter weather! I spent a lot of time this week working on a music project. It won’t be completed for a few more days, and then I will sit on it for a few days – I have gotten into a bad habit of posting music, and then going back and redoing large chunks of it.
