Embers (Again ;) )

Embers

It seems that poor Embers got lost along the way and has picked up about zero interest.  A lot of the stories are based on stories that I posted on the blog, but remember, I post first drafts here and by the time they make it to the book they’ve undergone massive revision.

Embers is my second book of short stories.  There are over twenty stories in Embers, of which two are novellas and two others are almost novella length.  Even though there are a few very short stories, the average length of story is more than double those in the first book, Seasons of Imagination.

Quick Word on The Halley Branch

Halley-book-in-hand

It’s been a slow beginning….

It’s actually been slower than it was for The Fireborn which was slower than Seasons of Imagination.

I have received a little positive feedback from one reader on a Facebook post “OMG-Can’t put this book down great to read during our thunder storms!

I also went to the library in my town and talked to the head librarian.  I gave her copies of all three books.  They should be put on display in the near future, starting with the “New Arrival” shelf before going to the “Local Authors” shelf.  So more people should see it.  She also discussed a book talk, which I will most likely do at some point. Yeah, a Repeat – Free!

Fireborn Cover

In the shadowy area where myth and history collide….

Yes, I just posted this!  But it was before the “Free-sale” began.  So here it is again.

I really like my book, The Fireborn (of course I do: I wouldn’t put it out if I didn’t).  I think the premise is clever, and it’s a fun read.  At least I hope it is! So, yeah, I like it.

That being said…   The more I work on The Halley Branch, the more I think it is over all a better book.  Maybe a much, much better book.  Much, much, much better. Continue reading

The Fireborn Sacrifice ;)

I really like my book, The Fireborn (of course).  It’s a fun read and, I hope, a clever idea.

Thanks Everyone!

Fireborn SOCIAL MEDIA USE

Yesterday I did go beyond counting readers of The Fireborn on the fingers on one hand to two, then all of my toes, and ended up needing that abacus I talked about ;)  The rankings did spike for a while – I was #8 and #5 in Arthurian Legends in UK and Canada respectively for most of the day.  Odd, although I used a lot of Arthurian Legend in the book, I never placed it there.  Of course, this morning the numbers are back about were they were two days ago.  It is nice to have the surge, though.

Thank you to everyone who went out and picked it up!  If you read it and like it, please go back to Amazon and leave a review.

Although the sale is over, it isn’t too late to get a copy.  Of course you’ll have to pay for it ;) Continue reading

The Fireborn – Promo Video

Fireborn

In the shadowy area where myth and history collide….

My book The Fireborn is almost ready to be published.  I decided to do a little promotional video for it.  Don’t you ever do things like that?  So I wrote (and played) a little music.  I made some drawings and paintings (two water colors and a pastel).  Did a bit of simple animation.  And here it is!

(Click here if you don’t see the video)

As the publishing date gets closer, I’ll start to introduce characters and ideas, often using stills from the video I made.

Who said marketing can’t be creative? ;)

(Note – the drawing at the top of the page was not used in the video – perhaps it will be in the next one)
