Hello and Welcome! Happy Juneteenth, the newest US Federal holiday. It is a gorgeous day. Come on over and sit here in the shade. Can you see a little of the cove back through the trees, maybe some sparkles of the blue water? I’ll get you a nice strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. Were are we? Although it is a new photo, some of you may know that we are on Cape Cod today.
I drove down here to “The Cape” on Thursday evening. It was been about three weeks, so I was shocked at how much my yard resembled a jungle. Anyway, I unexpectedly got Friday (yesterday) off of work, which was perfect. I spent a big chunk of the day on yard work. I also did a nice paddle – it was perfect conditions. In the afternoon I took a long walk in the woods. This morning I went to my favorite beach for a long beach walk.
Hello and Welcome! Sit down and I’ll get you a nice, strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is a little on the cool side and damp after a night of rain, but feels comfortable. After the heatwave we had, anything would be! 5 days of 90 – 98 F (33 – 37 C) was pretty bad, particularly since it was very humid a few of those days. We then had a warm Thursday (not hot) followed by an almost cold Friday! The next few days will be closer to normal. Oh, where are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top as being from new Hampshire.
The big news this week was the weather. It was pretty oppressive! But not totally terrible. I did get out for some shorter walks, though the dogs chose not to most of the time. I didn’t run,but did strength executrices (I ran last Saturday before it was too uncomfortable and then on Friday). I did some yard work over the weekend and had someone come in and do some yard work that is beyond me over the week. And I tried to stay cool :)
Hello and Welcome! Come on over and take a seat. It feels great out here right now, even in shorts, but will get warm later. We are expecting a heat wave that will last until, I think, Thursday. But it is a beautiful morning, so let me get you a large mug of super dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. Oh, where are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top as being New Hampshire.
I drove home from Cape Cod on Sunday morning. It was a rainy and cold weekend! It had been very hot, so the house stayed warm throughout, but still – the temps were flat-lined at 46 F/8 C and it rained almost continuously late Friday night through Monday morning. Yuck. But then Monday turned out pretty good. i took the day off of work on Tuesday, and it was a great day! I feel I got more done Tuesday that the entire weekend, including Monday.
Oh, we received our first batch of farm fresh produce from a local CSA (Customer Supported Agriculture) on Tuesday! It is all greens this early, but still great!
Hello and Welcome! Come on in and sit down. It is wet and cold (relatively speaking) out there, so being indoors is mandatory. I’ll get you a nice large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. You will want soemthign warm! Oh, where are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
The big thing is that I spent the week on Cape Cod with just the new kitten, Alexander. Alexander has been my constant companion. He hangs out around me, wants to play with me, needs to sniff every morsel before it enters my mouth and sleeps curled up on my stomach every night. I do not know how he will react when we get back to New Hampshire and the dogs!
Hello and Welcome! Come on over and take a seat. It is a little cool and damp, but still very much Spring! Hold on and I’ll get you a mug of very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, some cocoa or other beverage. Better? We can sit here, smell the salt breeze and enjoy the green. Oh, where are we? Some of you may recognize that photo as being from Cape Cod.
So, the last time I was here I took a bunch of new Coffee Share photos for the Cape. I thought a couple were great and planned on using them. Of course they are up on my computer in New Hampshire, not doing anyone a bit of good.
And staying on the theme, I drove down here last night. This is a strange one because it is just me and Alexander, aka Super Scamp. Alexander actually traveled well and made the transition without a problem. He has been close to me more than usual, bu has also explored on his own. I think he loves having a new large house to explore! And being only 4-legged mammal is also great as he doesn’t have to worry watch his step.
This was a pretty busy week at work. not insane, but constant. It was also a busy week out of work. I had massage on Wednesday and a haircut on Thursday. i did take a few before and after photos on my phone, but haven’t looked at them yet.
Hello and Welcome! Come on over and I will get a a large mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or other beverage. It is a little cool, but warming up nicely. The sun is out and the world is green. It will be great to relax here and look off into the woods. Oh, were are we? This is another new photo so you may not recognize it, but it was taken in New Hampshire.
First, of course is Alexander, AKA Super Scamp. He is a feisty 8 month old kitten that has been turning our house upside down. You can read more about him here. (note – he is that sandy gold, very muted color, but pretty).
Hello and welcome. Come on over and I’ll get a strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. It is actually relatively warm and a little later in the day than I usually post, so you can have something cool, like water, if you’d like. It is warmish, but not as warm as a few other days. It is also cloudy, but a nice weekend day. And it does feel like spring. Where are we? Even regular visitors may not recognize the new photo at the top as being from New Hampshire (note, I am using this one for now because it says “New Hampshire” a lot louder than the other).
First thing is the sad news that we lost one of our cats, Albert. His health had been deteriorating for quite a while, but the last two weeks it took a nose dive. We’ll miss him. You can read more here.
Hello and Welcome! Come on over and sit down! It is a little cool, but warming. The sun feels great and there is no wind back here. You can see a little water flashing in the sun through the trees. Isn’t it pretty? Hold on and I’ll get you a mug of super strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. Oh, where are we? Some may recognize the photo at the top as being from Cape Cod.
I was on “The Cape” all week. More than that, this was my “Spring Break”. Sort of. I took Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off of work. It rained Thursday, but it was still nice to get away.
As i said, I did work Monday and Tuesday. They were busy days, but not as bad as the week before!
This week I kayaked a couple of times, walked in the woods, walked on the beach, ran, exercised, played with dogs, puttered around the house and yard, read, walked and dog walked, and other stuff. The dogs, or at least Idina, didn’t want to walk much, so I played with them in the back a lot. I am very physical when I play with Fiyero, chasing him, wrestling him for the ball/toy, etc. He is a boxer, so loves it. I also set up a keyboard and played a bit, but not as much as I had planned. I didn’t want to be inside!
I’m not sure exactly how I will let my day go today. I do plan on being outside as much as possible!
That being said, I do need to get moving again.
Thanks for stopping by! If you have a coffee share, I will try to visit, but no promises.
Hello and Welcome! Come on over and take a seat. It is a little cool, but not bad, and the sun feels great. I’ll get you nice mug of very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea, a hot cocoa or other beverage. It’s nice here, isn’t it? It doesn’t look quite like the photo at the top, which was taken in the middle of summer, but it is still pretty. Oh, were are we? Some of you may recognize that photo I spoke of as being from Cape Cod. Yes, there is a salt water marsh/bay just beyond those trees, which, without the leaves, is now visible.
So, yeah, I am on “The Cape” this weekend. I came down Thursday evening. Yesterday, after work, I took a long walk in the woods and by a saltwater marsh, then a shorter walk on the beach (it was super windy!), I got up early this morning and took a very long walk on my favorite beach. It is going to be warm, and the wind is down, so I am sure I will spend a big chunk of today on the kayak.
This was a tough work week. Yuck. The less said, the better.
Hello and Welcome! Come on over and I’ll get you a nice large mug of very strong dark roast, a cuppa tea or some hot cocoa. It is still cold and wet out here, but not raining. or snowing! The flowers are very beat up, but still beautiful, so let’s just look at the flowers as we sip our coffee. Oh, where are we, you ask? Some of you may recognize the photo at the top as begin from New Hampshire. I am thinking of updating my spring NH photo from this mid-March on to mid-April with lots of flowers. We’ll see…
Anyway, you may have noticed that I said “snow” up in that last paragraph. This is a longish story, so make sure you have plenty of coffee, and let’s go.
As soon as my age group was eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine, I went on line and signed up. Yesterday was the day for my first shot! Of course, the vaccine location was an hour drive away, but, hey, work was flexible and no problem takign time off.
The problem was the weather. It was pouring rain when I left. Actually, it was a nasty mix of rain and snow. Not much was sticking, but it was sure coming down. And I could not keep my windows fog free, no matter how hard I tried. If it wasn’t for the shot, I would not have left the house!
