This is a place where you can find all of the music I’ve posted to my site. I used to have some of my music in the side bar. I’ve missed having it there, so here it is.

Hi, I see you make music as well as making coffee! On youtube I found a test piece on your new synthesizer (April 2016) so I have published that on my board called “Full Shuffle” on a French search engine called “Qwant”. See here:

I did study classical composition for a while, but have gotten back to my roots of more electronic music. Thanks for posting my video! In ways I think that’s a strange one to pick, but then again, it is more “pop” than most of my music. (I would think “Lost Star” with it’s influence from French electronic musician Jean-Michel Jarre (among others) would be a better pick…). Thanks again!

That’s it, done! have added Lost Star to my boards. I love Jean-Michel Jarre’s music.

I was half joking, but thanks! The music was a homage to some of my electronic music heroes of the 70s and 80s. I hope you enjoy!

One of my resolution for next year is to get to know your music. I’m having your Hamlet symphony in the background and find it very intriguing.
I admit I find Shakespeare challenging but I try to go to see a play here and there. In my opinion your music reflects the complexity of Hamlet in notes instead of words.

I know I put a lot on my readers/listeners with some of these long, not necessarily easy pieces of music. I never know how many people actually listen. Thanks for taking the time!

Beautiful music! I have zero musical ability myself. Kind of in awe of this work you have done.

How long have you been making music. I sometimes write songs and play the recorder… not much of a musician but definitely appreciate musicians and the work they do.

Hi Tricia. I’ve been playing music most of my life. About 10 years ago I studied composition pretty seriously. Most of the music posted here was written during these studies. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to put into it lately. I still occasionally write songs and will most likely post some in the future.
Thanks for the comment!

Well keep on composing. You have many talents so I hope you continue to use them.

Thanks Tricia. I just wish there were more hours in the day to do what I love.

Do you ever use Sibelius to compose with Trent? I find composing a bit of a chore, I’ve got four to get the bare bones down on after work next week I managed to complete a German waltz today

Hi Charlotte. Except for the silly blues, Cup of You, everything on this page was written in Sibelius. I often do sketches on manuscript paper but after I have the basics worked out I’ll switch to Sibelius. I’ve written very little music in the last couple of years. It seems if I’m writing a lot of fiction I can’t write much music and when I write music I can’t write fiction.
With your great singing ability and dancing ability it’s almost reassuring you find something musical a chore ; ) Are you in a composition class at the Conservatoire?

I have musical theory class at the RCS that covers composition for two hours per week, the teacher asked for eight compositions of selected forms, I’d prepared three earlier but took them in to class for advice and because I obtained advice discovered at the end of the second trimester these couldn’t be presented in the eight so I’ve got to catch up with the deadline soon. I’ve got some ideas in my head :)

I heard your little musician and his new “toy”. I also heard a Beatle’s song played on the guitar.
Sibelius is notation software. It’s a pretty steep investment, but can be worth it. There are other very good notation programs for a lot less, even free. Another brand is Finale. They have a whole line of software from a competitor of Sibelius (Finale is even more recognized) to very minimal versions. I Think Cakewalk is theirs.
For what your son is doing recording software may be a better place to start. With recording software you can go for major studio stuff, to expensive to minimal to free. This allows a musician to record several tracks. If you listen to my version of Greensleeves it was done one track at a time using an old school (read 70’s technology) monophonic synth – it can’t play chords. A lot of the other songs use “virtual” instruments, instruments that are just software on the computer.
Good luck with your little musician!

..thanks for that Trent… I know SO little about it all…and nowadays it is a really BIG minefield. I shall refer him and teen to your comment… they seem to understand the tech lingo better then I.

You’re welcome. I’m sure just a little searching on line and they can get a whole lot more than I’ve said here. I’m a little out of it and haven’t upgraded my music software in years.

They grew up with it so it’s second nature. We had to learn it. In my case, since I’m sure I’m a bit older, I had to learn it as an adult.

Oh I do not know about that Sir. I am not THAT young… I KNOW I SOUND youthful in my splendid naivety – but SPOT ON.. hard as heck to learn stuff when we are all grown up and ‘set in our ways’ :P

Hey – my dude is 57 – so there you go.
Most days I feel 23… sadly today after too much exertion… I feel – 65.

I know both 23 and 65 or even 85. After I write this I’m going to do some purposeful exertion, i.e., I’m going running. For the most part that actually helps me feel younger – I said I feel 30 partially because I now feel younger than I did when I was in my late 30s and didn’t get enough exercise.

Its hoovering – dunno why – hoovering hurts me. Other exertion is fine. Just – hoovering – sucks. :P

I understand. That’s work. I chose to run. I don’t chose to hoover and my house shows it ; )
